Upgrade or UPGRADE

Hi,

I've got a 2007 Tundra 4x4 Crewmax LTD. 200500km on the clock.

I love my truck and would like to continue using it for the next 5 years at least, since it's paid for and still running good.

I live in Alberta, Canada.

However, what service items/or upgrades should I consider that will extend the life of my truck.
I had the gearbox replaced under warranty on 98000km (with a reman unit) and there is a weird vibration from the drivetrain which I'm going to have checked out right away. I'm thinking propshaft...

I think it might be worth my while to spend money upgrading the shocks, doing all the pipes that might have wear and tear on them, but I'm not sure what else to consider.

Or do I consider buying a new truck?

Your advise would be appreciated.

Agreed. My 07 has 61K+. Next to nothing.

 

Check out ToyTec for OME suspension. Resonably priced. Get the Auto Tranny fluid changed. Definitely get the drive train check up. I've been thru Alberta driving down from AK in 2012. As I recall not much salt is used in winter on the roads in your area. Check your frame and other exposed parts to be sure. As far as pipes. Do what you can get away with, to keep the RMCP off your ass. heh heh

You're truck is barely broken in. I'd get the vibration issue solved, then get your 60k mile service done per Toyota recommendations, and drive on.

 

Actually, he has 124K miles on it.

I say keep it. All the issue you mentioned seems to be easily resolvable. Wear and tear items belong to regular maintenance. 125k miles is nothing.
