Just curious what everyone else wants to do for their truck. Here's mine.
    Re-gear to 4:88s
    Longtube headers
    Better suspension
    Bigger fuel tank
    Seat covers
    Audio
    ESP underseat storage
    Bumpers
    Extreme parking lot sliders

This may be more along the lines of what I plan to get/place on the Tundra(not as hardcore as you all with the big mods...yet). These are a lot of hope and dreams, and as long as I get the foreman(the mrs.) to sign off on these I'm golden!
    In the future:
    Window deflectors
    Cargo stabilizer bar
    Remote starter(50/50 on this)
    TRD pro grille
    Rago fabrication bed rack
    RTT
    Plasti dip the badging
    Insert lettering
Wrapped chrome bumpers & end caps
New Rims(maybe in a year or longer)
    LED headlights and fog lights
ABS sensor protectors(anybody else have these or are the needed?)

    Purchased:
Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover (installed today)
    Pop and lock tailgate (shipped)

This is the short list for now. It'll mostly be done next year though as funds are tight until then and oh yeah...it's winter and frig off cold now. LOL

    - Replace headlight/corner light housings

    - Install ARE Overland Cap

    - Quality seatcovers

    - LED lighting interior and exterior

    - Linex my rear bumper

    - Flush mount LED flood lights in the rear bumper on a switch

    - Use some plastidip and add some logos for a secret project I'll reveal later...

    - Lift or level. Leaning towards Toytec Ultimate Lift Kit. Don't wanna go much higher, but I want a level stance.

    Longer term:

    - Dual battery set up

    - On board air

    - ARB Safari bumper

    Super fun thread!

    I
. Short-term truck goals for my current life in the city:

    1. Pressure washer; cleaning accessories 2. Sun shade
    3. Console storage
    4. Side steps for back doors
    5. Remove SR5 badges; black out others
    6. Some way to store the sun shade when driving (it's a PITA)
    7. Line-X bed
    8. Swing-out tool boxes
    9. Tonneau cover (or other secure bed storage to hold luggage for road trips.)
    10. Better sound system
    11. Remote start (other than Toyota)

    Any tips appreciated!!

II. After it's paid for/ out of warrantee, in preparation for my son's teen years and more lengthy excursions away from city life when I retire, I want to transition my 2x4 to a capable-with-support overlander, if such a thing is possible:

    1. A low-mount bedrack like KevinK and Lisa have (Brandon @ Avid Off-Road, Gilbert, AZ) plus attachment points for 2 kayaks and bicycles
    2. Leaf add-on to support more weight
    3. An RTT; so far the JamesBaroud Grand Raid XXL looks best to me.
    4. Suspension, spacing, lift to support
    6. 35" tires
    7. Remove steps; install SDHQ sliders
    8. SDHQ 12-S Hidden Winch Mount (assist or self-rescue my 2x4)

Can I add a locking differential
to the rear axle of a 2x4, and will that add get-me-out-of-jambs ability?

    9. ARB differential locker
    10. ARB twin air-compressor
    11. Skid plates
    12. Tiregate vertical tire mount, with Hi-lift jack mount

    13. Assorted self-rescue tools
    14. Camp-kitchen accessories; what, compressed air for beer?!!
    15. Some way to secure valuables in the bed during long hikes away from the truck
    16. Better lighting outside
    17. Communication device for off-grid
    18. Probably another battery
    19. Probably a larger or second gas tank

Edit: I keep adding things as y'all give me great ideas, as I choose parts.

This was more fun to write than any Christmas list ever!

Some of the major to dos I have for Pluto in priority order..

    1. Custom rear bumper with dual arms for spare tire and cooler.
    2. Rear air locker and 4.88 gears.
    3. Long-travel.
    4. 42" tires.

Some of the random minor mods I have to do between those major ones are..

    - Redo visor tint.
    - Upgrade RTT to a hard top.
    - Get a "wing"-style awning.
    - Add more switches in the cab.
    - Finish dual-battery system.
    - Finish water system.
    - Upgrade my auxiliary gas tank to be switch-powered.

I recommended hitting up Dallas at Line-X San Diego (National City). He did my bed and also the exterior of my tailgate.

Yes and maybe; it's all dependent on driver skill really.

That's what I'm looking to upgrade to. I'm selling my CVT.

ARB makes the best compressors that'll last. You'll do fine with one of their single motor compressors.

@Spvrtan , thanks much for responding! I've been learning by reading posts from you, @Bannock452, and... someone whose name escapes me from Temecula-- and I keep hoping an opportunity will come my way to meet you and check out your trucks, since I think you 3 are closest overlander to me. I have a lot to learn. Until I found this forum, I didn't know how much I don't know. If I'd read more, I'd have probably gone 4x4....

Thank you; I will! This saves me asking for local referrals.

Thanks for the recommendation; I'm starting a list.

Would definitively appreciate checking out your truck. Please let me know if you're going to be someplace for a while, standing around, willing to answer questions...! :militarypress:
