Guys, I'm reading Bilstein is coming out with a new series. If anyone finds information on this, post it here. Apparently, they should be out in January.
    http://youtu.be/5AhNGQkikbM

It looks like they make the 5160 series for out trucks too, from looking at their product sheet.
    http://cart.bilsteinus.com/pdfs/off-road.pdf

I wish they would do this in an adjustable 3 inch coilover. That's one of the reasons I was going to buy the ultimate lift kit until it was back ordered forever.

The more I look at the rear 5160s, the more I think I'll get a set. Remote res and rebuildable. Those paired with some fat bobs or toytec coilovers might be just right.

This is an adjustable height 65mm shock with Eibach spring. It does reuse your stock upper mount.

Is it 5160 or 5165 that a second gen uses?

you are right, 5160. Same shock, 5160 is app specific, 5165 are universal.

So as of today my truck is now in the hands of the team @ Bilstein, testing spring & valving rates.

Part numbers have been released to vendors, but the shocks will not be available until the end of January, anyone offering them for sale doesnt have them.

Should have the truck back Friday, and will be testing at the MORE 200 race this weekend in Barstow, CA. Next week I will post my initial impressions - I have high expectations for these!!

This seems to be a beefed up version of 5100. Very promising. With thicker shock body, will the installation be as easy as 5100?

Just a few, more to come
I would think so. Not really any different than installing a 2.5" body coilover assembly. The tundra is a big truck, probably still has even more room to go larger.

I have gained right over 2.5" in the front and gained 1" in the rear.

The prototype set I am on has a threaded shock body, the production units will have pre cut grooves like the 5100s and offer the same height levels per application.

These are PROTOTYPE shocks pictured below and are not what the production units will look like

If you do purchase these, please do not go through Total Automotive Performance, or "TAP" They were nuked from our forums due them screwing over multiple members.

That's coil over to, so would replace my factory spring. I don't off- road, so wondering if I should just go with shocks only. What ya think

I think you would be good with 5100's and a 1 inch spacer in the rear. I'm not the most educated when it comes to suspension set ups, so hopefully one of the other guys will chime in. Of course there are whole threads on this but while we are here I will give some quick info, though like I said, this isn't my area of expertise.
Seems to me that if you are going 3" or under you have a few options. Spacer lift, Bilstein adjustable 5100's, or a coil over kit like the 6112's, the BOSS kit, the TRD kit, etc. The performance and price goes up with each step. If you can't get in spec with your alignment (I believe this would be for 3"+) you would want to pick up adjustable UCA's. A diff drop would probably be a good idea as well, and some guys have had to shim a sensor under the truck if you change the rake of the truck too much.

That's my suspension knowledge (right or wrong) in a nutshell.
