    All,

I am currently looking at getting a 2018 SR5 4x4 Crewmax at the end of the year and am debating on the led headlights.

To get the LED headlights I have to get the trd off-road package which I am going to upgrade the shocks with 5100's.

What is everyone's opinions on the new LED headlights vs upgrading the stock halogens with LED bulbs or a higher power halogen?

Proper led , vs pnp led bulbs the proper LED will be brighter and better quality. Brighter halogens have a short life. Go with the 2018 biled

The TRD pkg may not be worth it if you are planning to upgrade the suspension any way. That is unless you just have to have the wheels. Now if it came with the BFGs that my TSS OR did then it might be. I had a dealer trade on a TRD working when I saw the TSS with the better tires so I cancelled and glad did. Dealer had ticked me off anyway. Gave me a ridiculous price for labor on TRD exhaust and would not budge one dime off his offer on my trade. Then they were whining about how I was already well below invoice when I questioned them on a customer loyalty offer they sent me. Went to another dealer and the finance guy tried to pull a fast one and add $599 to my invoice. When I asked what for he said "we charge it to all customers". I said not me.

Don’t put HID or LED bulbs in halogen housings. If you don’t go with a truck with the factory LED’s do a proper HID or LED retrofit.

I have a set of retrofits on order. I put leds in my fogs and they work great but doing it the right way on headlights. If I was OP I would go with SR5 with upgrade pkg. and aftermarket on suspension and lights.

I would go with the TRD package, as you will get the lights you want and nicer wheels. I know you will upgrade the suspension, and you can sell your brand new take offs. Same thing with the wheels.

Thank you all for your suggestions, at the end of the day it will all depend on what I can afford. I would get some method nv wheels with 275/70/18 At tires if it was just the sr5 upgrade. They do not appear to be budging much off the price yet on the 2018s. I'm hoping December will be better.

Go to a few different Toyota dealers, check truecar too. I'm sure you know but Toyota doesn't knock huge chunks off MSRP like the Detroit guys. I know it's odd hearing what Dodge and Chevy guys get knocked off the price.

Good chance it will be. I bought my last Tundra on Jan 4th of this year, and got huge savings...it was the last day of some big sales event and the dealer was trying to hit “their number”
