Following. I have Tyger side steps and they are (expectedly) rusting after 4 years. I was thinking Go Rhino, but these look good.

For $250, the quality is nice. Everything lined up perfectly for install, the quality of the coating (like bedliner) was good, and the welds looked good. I scooted the step along about an inch to get it lined up on the supports (they mention not doing this in the instructions as not to mar the coating) and no marks were present afterward. We’ll see how long they last, I had nfab on there for about 6 years and they were good, but powder coating chipped away and they were rusting out underneath.

Whatever the gray box is on the bottom right of the first picture broke off its solder pad. I put good layer of solder on it and the pad then mushed em back together. I could not find the issue initially but when I tried to pull the board out of the housing I happened to grab that thing as the only convenient grabbing location and it peeled up off the rest of the board with almost no pressure.

Messed up a few weeks ago. Was making a right turn from a stop sign, stopped behind a little Tesla that I'd been following for several miles on one of our Texas Ranch Roads. I was watching two cars coming from the left and as the second one passed, I mistakingly thought the Tesla had moved on out. So I started moving before I looked back to the front. By that time I had already hit him. The Tesla was still there. So, my plastic bumper cover and his rear plastic bumper both suffered the consequences. I don't have collision coverage, but my liability coverage took care of the Tesla. Couple days later I popped my bumper back out, but still planned to do it up right. OEM bumper shell was only a little over $200 at my local dealer (100 miles away is local around here). Getting it painted cost me another $800, but it was done right.

So the old came off and the new went on. Pulled the old one off yesterday, and the new one went on today. Transfered parking sensors, foglights and the lower center portion from the old to the new. Nothing very hard about the whole process. Comes apart easier than it goes back together. Doesn't it always? Just took a little longer than such things used to. These ol' 78 year-old bones don't get down and up from the floor so fast anymore. I still need to aim the fogs.

I'm taking a 4200 mile trip next month, so my next project is to check the ball joints on this 240K mile chassis. Also hope to replace the steering rack bushings before the trip. Have the Energy Suspension bushings sitting on my workbench.

Collision insurance on my 2012 costs me an additional $18 a month over liability. I don't like paying insurance but you just cost yourself money.

Consider that I've not had an at-fault accident since 1977 (and it was admittedly a doozy, totaling both cars and should have totaled me) and multiply that number of years by $216/yr. and you come out with well over $10k, not even counting possible earnings on the money saved. So it's either as I said, or drive safely..... or both, actually. But thanks for your opinion.

I get it. Part of the reason for the lol was because when I posted, my brain was stuck on $18x12 + $250 deductible. I wasn't considering multiple years of paying it.
That being said, having collision has saved my ass more than once over the years. The most recent being a hit and run damage in a parking lot while I was in a store. That was a $3000 repair that was considered collision. To each is own though. Pay now or pay later or just be lucky.

Put in the Dasaita G13 HU, thing is sweet! Only thing I don't care for is the fact that it rests on top of the climate control module thru the clips only. I may take it out and punch new holes in the factory HU metal brackets so I can screw the radio back into place and it will be held together better. Also waiting on the some magnetic cord hangers for the usb cords coming out of the dash mount from the HU to charge the phones, just left them draping over for now so they don't fall back thru...or maybe just wire a usb charger up top somewhere and get shorter cables?

Yes at 100k and I do have another set ready on standby.

Does the rad assembly come with the cap?

Same for water pump and t-stat…come with gaskets?

Thoughts on fan clutch / or bearings at this point or is that something I can do relatively easily once the time comes?

I doubt they come with gaskets or the cap, normally you have to swap over or buy new

We always tell customers not to just replace things to replace things, so if your fan clutch sounds fine and isn’t sticking or roaring then leave it
