Does you driver side mirror tilt in reverse?

It is supposed too right? When the mirror position is in the Left position. But mine does not. Wondering why... Or is this a model year thing?

 

Mine will remember your setting on left and right and will tilt downwards in reverse. You have to have it toggled in left or right, if it is on the center position, it won't do it. Not sure if this is a later feature or not, but mine is a 2020 when they added some additional features around that time.

 

Likely only later models. My 2018 Limited does not do it.

 

My 2018 Platinum does it, so long as the switch is toggled to the left or right (but its hard to leave it here do to my OCD lol)

 

My ‘21 TRD Pro unfortunately does not do that.

For 2014–2021 Toyota Tundra models, the side mirrors on the highest trim levels—the Platinum and1794 Edition—will automatically tilt down when the vehicle is put in reverse. This feature is not available on lower trims like the SR, SR5, or Limited.

 

I’m dying to get this working on my 16 platinum but can’t figure it out for the life of me. I swear it must not have it

 

Same for mine. 2015 Platinum and it doesn't work.

 

Out of curiosity try to put the truck in reverse and try to manually put each mirror where you want it to go. Maybe it’s just not adjusted to tilt down when in reverse. If you put the truck back in drive it should tilt up to the original position. The mirror has to be on right or left to work,,,not the middle

 

I believe there was a setting in the head unit menus for turning that feature on and off. At least on my 2019.

I tried this still didn't work for me. I wonder if it can be turned on with Techstream?

 

My '21 nightshade limited does not. I tried every combinations to see if it would work. I could find nothing in settings.

The owners manual does not say anything about it only offered in the top package versions.

It’s only on trims that have memory seats and power fold mirrors which is Platinum or 1794

 

I have a Platinum, 2015 and don't have it.

 

I’m not sure what year they started doing that. I had a 2020 Platinum and it worked for me

 

This option helps in cars. But honestly in my SR5 when I set my mirrors for driving i can see the rear wheels when backing up... maybe I lean forward when im backing into a spot and thats why I can see the rear tires and curbs.

But only newer top of the line trucks can get that option...

 

I tried it in my 2015 1794. No dice...

 

I believe it is one of the options in Techstream, I could be wrong though because I know I disabled it on my 2019 I just don't remember if I disabled it through the head unit or techstream but typically the options in the head unit are also in text stream except the moving of the steering wheel or the seat when you get in and out I forget which one because one you could disable in the head unit but the other one needs to be disabled and techstream
