Picked this rig up for a song, wanted the transmission. Has Fiberwerx fenders front and rear. Runs, Drives, Barely stops.

Has a Fiberwerx hood scoop on it too that looks terrible.

Frame is absolute trash. Has some good parts on it though. Everything works. Limited interior is going in my SR5. May swap doors but definitely keeping the big vent visors.

I was also told it has a locker in the rear and was in a magazine back in the day. Anyone recognize it?

Picked it up in rural midland Wisconsin. Had some good Brisket during the trip too.

I would think the hood and fenders alone would be valuable to the right person.

    Nice find!

Oh, I bet it’s a 3” based on how much frame is hanging down below the door sills.

Maybe, but I don't think so. I'm judging belt the bed to frame gap thru the wheel well and from bottom of grill to top of bumper. Of course the bumper could've been moved up to cover some of the gap. I'm guessing 1-1.5" BL.

Too bad 4Crawler went under. Sometimes I think I should've gone with the 1.5"

Now I think there's only one brand that makes em for our trucks and it's a 3".

I've decided to run both the front and rear fenders. It shouldn't be hard to build mounting for the fenders on my square tube bed I built.

Oem control arms / spindles. Has unknown struts and a small lift spacer.

It looks nicer in the pictures than it is. This is the worst frame I've seen. Just getting cut apart.

It is 3" which is a bit egregious to me. My tires are bit smaller than the ones on this truck. I think with the 1.5" suspension lift I have it will tuck the fenders super well. May need a small spacer, would help with the full lock rub anyway.

You got pictures of this asshole long dog? I got one of them too.

How the hell was a non LT truck with a 3” body lift and glass featured in a magazine?? So just a high offset wheel setup? Crackhead weekly?

Sponsorship, successful race careers. Hey! We made these things, hooked it up for big name racer, can we get some coverage.

You also have to understand, a lot happens in 20 years. Who knows what was on it then that isn't on it now. Magazine cars back then are the Youtube cars of now built and forgotten.

No, I don't have a weenie dog. Not a fan. I came up with the name while on acid and reminiscing on my experiences with weenie dogs.

I bet someone stripped the good shit out of it. Well, if they did that why wouldn't they get the fenders? Eh, who knows.

Yeah, kinda odd. That's why I'm trying to figure out it's history. Curiosity more than anything. It's getting chopped into pieces no matter what. I'm on the fence on whether I want it to have different gearing, don't feel like swapping front diffs but some extra gear would help.

Disassembly is well underway. Are there any odd bits / modules / harnesses I should hoard before I send the remains to the crusher?

Engine, Engine Harness, ECU, T-Case, T-case switches / wiring, Axles, F Diff are going to the hoard.

Seats, tacky woodgrain, transmission, rear window are getting swapped.

I might swap doors but I'm definitely taking the door stays. Toyota is way too proud of them.

    Edit: Of course the fenders.

I'd want to sawzall out the pass rear corner of the cab to use to make a mold of the storage compartment.

Not that I have time to do anything like that tho.

I don't think so. They cut a hole for the scoop but it's kinda tacky to me. I think with some body filler and paint it could look decent but right now it's just bolted on top.

On the other hand, it's the same color as the fenders.

Yes the 2nd Gen Tacoma scoops, 2nd Gen Rav4 scoops, and the 3rd Gen thru 4th Gen 4Runner scoops all match, and all match our trucks lines perfectly.

If it’s got a grey interior that matches your own, driver & passenger seatbelt latches.

I'm swapping the seats / center console and will probably rhinoline the floor so color doesn't matter much to me. Do the latches go bad often?
