    Hi everyone,

I’m looking to replace the cloth seats in my 2017 Tundra with leather seats from a junkyard Tundra. The donor truck had its airbags deployed. I have a few concerns:
    1. Are the seats themselves equipped with airbags, or is it just the truck’s main airbag system that matters? I have attached a picture as a reference because it seems like the seats have no airbags

    2. If the seats do have airbags, can they be replaced easily with my airbags from my cloth seat, or would I run into issues trying to make this swap plug-and-play?
I’m mainly looking for a straightforward swap—don’t care about power adjustments, heating, or cooling—just want the leather upgrade safely.

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Seats have airbags, you can see the SRS airbag logo stamped into the plastic trim along the side there, believe they also have one in the front and one up along the side if memory serves me correctly.

Not sure about swapping airbags from one seat to another but my gut says it wouldn’t be easy/advisable/worth it, check the connectors under the seat and see if yours match the donor truck, think the airbag ones yellow again if memory serves me right.

Other option not sure if you’ve considered, remove the seat covers, easier than it sounds, and either swap them to your truck or pay an auto upholstery place to put em on.

Thanks for your input that helps a lot. Is there a possibility that the airbags in the seat did not trigger? Because based on the picture I uploaded I do not see any indication that the airbags in the seat you mentioned activated

If the airbags in the seats trigged you would know, it’s in the side of the seat so it would blow it open

Yeah I don’t see any evidence the seat airbags deployed. Depending how much they want for the seats you might be better off getting Katskins or some other leather like others suggested. Removing the seats and covers is not difficult and only requires minimal hand tools. I removed my cloth covers to install seat heaters and then got frustrated/fed up trying to get the covers back on without bunching, local shop charged like ~$150 or so to put both covers back on and they look factory again.
