I'm new here i have a 2005 tundra access cab 4.7L. sr . 180453 k miles don't know history. every thing i can see is all stock. no add ons. I recently did a trans drain and fill with filter change. Refill with idemitsu type TLS LV fluid. trans up shifts fine and when i gradually slow down to a stop trans downshift s fine. But if i have to come to sudden stop trans seems like it does not downshift with engine speed. After i stop there is a jult , that jult is the trans shifting into 1st gear i believe.
What are your thoughtss on this issue

Might not be the trans at all. When was last time you lubed the driveline?

When the driveline begins to dry up - fast stops cause the rear end to lift up and the brakes hold it there - then when you release some of the brake hold it will then jolt as you say like a bump.

Do not overfill with grease - just 3 good pumps per fitting. Luck and enjoy.

    thank you for your reply
I'm not sure what you mean by driveline. i did grease universal joints. I did nothing with rear end.

Yeah drive line = Ujoints. Was hoping for something simple - common on other Toyota trucks.

it is a 2w rear drive.
I did my research and found that the idemitsu atf type TLS -LV is compatible.

I was thinking of replacing the solenoids in the trans not sure of the cost for parts , i can do the labor myself. then again i don't want to just throw in parts not knowing it will fix the issue. I think there 5 or 6 solenoids.
