Android Headunit

If someone can figure out exactly how to connect an aftermarket amp and sub combo with this in a JBL premium setup please lmk. I’m honestly dumbfounded.

 

How are they hooked up now? Or is this something you want to do?

 

Something I would like to do. Not sure what to do with that wire they have coming out for the sub. Not really a mono sub output right?

 

I currently have the non-JBL version with an audiocontrol DSP and amps, I did purchase the ********* plug and play harness that connects under the passenger seat. I did nothing behind the factory HU and I am anticipating a simple swap of the HUs. Once I receive the HU (ordered a week ago) will update this thread.

Thanks for posting that. It’s too bad that the JBL system is totally different and a PITA to work around.

 

I think you should have no problems, because of the plug and play. You'e unplugging the stock one and plugging this one in. Now for you wanted to add an amp or amps, you have the pre outs, but I have no idea on what to do with the single subwoofer wire. I' trying to look that up.

The single sub output goes into a sub amp..where the other four rca outputs are to run door speakers through an amp for a 4.1 channel setup

 

I kinda figured but how do you connect that single connection to the L/R RCA inputs at the amp? It’s not even an RCA plug coming out of the unit...

 

You should have a pig tail plug that's a two pin on one end and a single rca on the other..it seems the plugs on this one is pretty similar to mine.. When I get home I can post a pic around 7 pm

I believe you have to save the pic into the system probably via thumb drive then set it as logo wall paper..but is in one of the administrative menu where you would select the logo..as it shwould only be seen during the booting process then change to the regular wall paper

 

Glad to see you got it to work. The nice thing is you can turn it out while driving as well.

The screen is nicer on the new one, but the buttons and the finish of the surround on the factory piece looks ten times better.

 

I agree. I cant believe on the "mode" knob it still has the hot/cold color change.

Yeah there’s not even a RCA plug regarding the unit the threads about. So I’m still stuck...

 

Has anyone been able to change the led colors on the hvac controls on the new unit? Just wondering if they can be changed to match the factory color better or if your stuck with it being a lighter blue.

 

Does anyone know if you can have two cameras showing at the same time? So a backup camera and front camera...

 

I emailed them and asked for the spec sheet.

 

I haven' tried yet. In one of the links posted it shows how to get into advanced menus. You need codes. It shows what they are, there are soo many options, but all in chinese

 

I don' think so, when you hit camera, it makes you select between them.

 

I asked the seller about changing the color and they replied no, you can't change the color unfortunately. I made the suggestion for future versions to change to the Toyota Tundra blue.

 

Hooked up a hard drive that I use for trips with my son's videos. Read it right away, very fast. To show when you select a movie, what comes up to play it. Also got the -40 off of the screen, they said it's a feature not used in my truck.
