    Nothing yet
    Friends,

    Called my dealer to get an update about my replacement engine today. The are currently ordering engines for mfg date of Nov. 2022. I have not received a letter from Toyota as of yet but my MFG date is Nov. 2022.

    In conversation with the service rep I asked what is Toyota doing with all of the replaced engines? She said she did not know.

    Made the comment that I hoped that they were not remanufacturing the old engines and putting them in as new engines. She said she had no idea. They just receive the engines and put them in and send the old one back.

    Does anyone confirm if we are getting new crate long blocks or remanufactured long blocks ?

    It seems that if Toyota was putting in completely new long blocks the dealers would know this and say.....brand new not remanufactured. Anxious to hear what our friends on the forum share with us. Kid

    Recall trucks are getting brand new “crate” motors , long blocks

    the old ones are sent back to Toyota , they are not using remanufactured parts in any of the trucks

    @sudobash , right?

    I would be shocked if Toyota was reusing these blocks.

    Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
    The engines that did not blow up get holes drilled in various places and sent back to Toyota

    Toyota has a strict policy, they absolutely will not reuse anything from old engines. Its all scrapped. Every part, piece, bracket etc.

    Correct. Any engine that is pulled from a recalled truck is being sent to Toyota Engine Recovery, 10848 Luna Rd, Dallas, TX 75220 to be scrapped and melted down. There are some that are being sent back to Toyota Quality in Plano for inspection, but they will ultimately be scrapped as well.

    Recall Remedy has not been released for anything after Mid-August 2022. They have no way of ordering you a recall remedy engine assembly. Your truck is in the last phase of the 7 phases.

    Does the offending manufacturing debris go into the melt as well or do they fish that stuff out of there prior?
