I’m eyeing this 06 DC Limited. I think $14k is way too high though. Based on the photos what do you guys think about the frame? I found some records online and it looks like this truck spent timing in the NE.

Nope. That rust. Unicorn brake MC. Shame.

Can you expand on the unicorn brake MC point? I’m new to Tundras. Is this in reference to the deleted ABS?

I think I’ve tried to convince myself the rust isn’t as bad as it is. I need to be more patient and wait for the right one to come.

Is there a price you would consider this at?

Zero dollars for rust buckets. That MC is $$$ unobtainium when it fails

When running the vin decoder, look for VSC (vehicle stability control). If it has that, run away. It's an integrated break, abs, traction control system and these early years had a lot of problems. The master brake cylinder, the brain for the entire system, is unobtaibable when the one you have fails.

Thanks for the info! Were you able to tell from the photos that it had this? And some of the 06 Tundras don't have VSC?

I actually noticed when I test drove it that the brakes seemed extremely heavy to apply. I wonder if this is related to the VSC system.

I also add more photos over in this thread.

No, I asked the seller for the VIN and ran it days ago. Most didn't have it fortunately. It was a high end option, probably the least purchased of all the options available. Right up there with the rear DVD entertainment system.

Sort of looks like bedliner on the bottom half, not a factory two-tone. But a nice looking truck. I'm not sure I've ever seen a double cab without the big, flat fender flares either. I like this way better. IMG_0651.jpg
