I'm taking my 2023 Tundra on the Amtrak Auto Train in a few days. I recently did a similar trip on my motorcycle, and to avoid killing the battery as a result of the security system activating with movement, I put it into transport mode.

Is there a way to put the Tundra into some kind of transit mode to disable the alarm? If so, is it easy to return back to normal?

I checked the owner's manual and nothing stood out (just normal arm/disarm procedures with the fob). I worry the movement of the train itself could trigger the security system.

    Thanks for your help!

From our friends at Google. No idea if it's accurate or not....

    AI Overview

To activate transport mode on a 2023 Toyota Tundra, the typical procedure is to press and hold the hazard lights button for approximately 15 seconds, or until a notification appears on the dashboard indicating that transport mode has been activated. Transport mode saves battery life when the vehicle is stored for extended periods

Thank you for this. I gave it a shot and unfortunately no luck. I suspect I'll need to just have them leave the truck unlocked once loaded.

That would have been my next thought. I did a search of the PDF manual for "transport" and it did have a couple of entries related to transport on a ship, train, etc. But they were related to turning off the collision system stuff. I assume due to the close quarters.

Same! At the end of the day, they have the keys anyway. Thanks again for the cross-check.
