I appreciate it, guys. I apparently slept so well I didn't hear my wife get ready for bed, which is a feat in itself.

Time to raise the stakes yet again at Tundras Live Crew Meat Festival, where we can dunk @Azblue into a tank full of Miller Lite, @T-Rex266 into a tank of Ghost Orange Cream and @LarryDangerfield into a tank of White Claw. There will also be blow up doll jousting and turtle races with the festival champ will be crowned with their very own Burger King crown!

Good thoughts. For me, taking on more things, it can work, but I have to make sure I don’t erode my baseline routine. The more I can stick to baseline, the better.

 

Weed ruins plenty. It's no worse than alcohol, but so many people just turn into burnt out pot heads. It kills ambition and productivity.

Then add in that most morons on it are too stupid to realize that you are not sober when you are high and that things like driving are a bad op... mass use will cause more problems than it already does.


Don't get me wrong, I'd way rather somebody smoked a joint than drank booze, but weed being totally harmless is a myth. I don't have the answers or solutions. I just see some of the pitfalls.

 

When do you start your new job?

 

I have a tentative start date of 10/6, pending background. I'm getting the feeling this background check is going to snowball into something ridiculous just based on the things being requested, like my high school transcripts, which I don't have and am not going to go through the effort of getting.

There shouldn't be a need to check things outside of criminal, credit (debatable but depends on the specific job), work history, college education (verify I graduated with what I claim from where I claim) and legal right to work in the Country. They already did a check with my actual prior managers/supervisors. Once you go beyond that then I feel like they are just kicking over rocks for the sake of kicking over rocks.

Not shaming. Just making sure you knew what you were getting into. At your age the vision tends to start going, and we all know that your looking through beer goggles.

 

I think it's one of the most bizarre aspects of where we are today. Huge swaths of people are so done up, they straight up look fake. Whatever happened to people just looking like people?

 

They're still out there, and when you see a pretty girl who isn't all plastic and botox it's like seeing a unicorn. Simply magical, and not even in a horny/sex way. It's just refreshing and pleasant.

 

For Gene, they're just called goggles.
