Finally gang, we can put this one to bed. T-SB-0038-25 did in fact resolve my fuel gauge reseting to Full issue when at 3/4 of a tank parked on my sloped driveway. Happened before in every refill. Tested overnight both nose up and down with no gauge change. Yay!! So nice to have this fixed after 2 yrs. of ownership. Thanks Toyota!! (It was the only noticeable issue my truck has had besides other safety recalls)

Except there are reports of 2025s having the same issue and they aren't included in the TSB.

I need to get this done, but I’ll probably wait until the next service (October). Unless another window goes nuts or another door catch gives out. Then I’ll go in sooner ha my driveway is on an incline so the fuel gauge changing happens fairly regularly.

Wait, wait, wait. According to that one guy in all the 3rd gen threads you're an apologist and Toyota's PR team. You can't call them out!

If one were to work for Toyota PR, they would not be sharing what has been shared. And that "one guy in all the 3rd Gen Threads" doesn't seem, nevermind.

I honestly hope that the issue doesn’t return for you, but after I had the TSB performed, all was well for a few months and it returned, albeit not as frequent. I just resigned myself to the fact that it was something I would have to live with.

Might you be confusing this with the original Combi Gauge TSB that is a yr. old? (T-SB-0022-023) It didn’t work. This latest one, 0038-025, isnt even 2 months old yet.

TSB states it will reduce the possibility of this occurring... are they admitting this didn't fix the root cause?

At least at my dealer your results are totally based on the tech adviser you get upfront. I have been pushing for the final fuel line and brake squeal TSB for a long while. Went in couple weeks ago and guy offered them up without me prompting and just did then. Not the usual we will have to wait 3.2 cycles of the moons of Saturn to maybe get the urge to order your parts. Then you get into will we still give a shit enough to call you they arrived which is always no. And then it's our jollies when you call back 3 times and we pretend we don't know what you are talking about

Just took my truck in for an oil change and am having them look at the fuel gauge as well. Advisor told me he had never heard of this issue and "We don't have a way to put the truck on an incline to test it". Dealership has do far been decent, we'll see if they do the TSB or if I have to continue to press for the fix if they "can't replicate the issue". Also having the fix the squeaky drivers side visor.

How much of an incline is needed? More than a jack or ramps?

It's happened to me a few times at the same boat launch. I'd have to say it is steeper than ramps could duplicate. Just my experience though...

No. They could pull the front tires up on a curb and be more than plenty. My driveway is just a slight incline (front is only a couple of inches higher than the back).
I've had the TSB applied and seems to have worked, so far.

My driveway has a mild incline something that driving it up on a curb could reproduce easily. Ramps wouldn't be required to replicate it. I suggested putting the front up on jack stands as well. According to my service rep, they have neither ramps nor jack stands.

Who knows. He was a service advisor, I am guessing that he isn't fully aware of what all the techs have available to them.

Where I park at home is perfectly level, I do park on the street in town on occasion at a very, very slight incline. I do drive up some pretty steep inclines on those days I park in town, I wonder if that can trigger it? Happens about every third tank or so and always between full and 3/4 tank. Dealer is looking at it next oil change on Tuesday.

Dealers don't need jack stands or ramps. They don't work on cars on their back on the ground. They use lifts for everything.

The ramps are to put it at an angle to replicate the issue, not to work on it.
