Just ordered a cord of wood for the winter and camping trips. I'm trying a different company this time, hope I don't get screwed on the amount and/or quality. It's often hit or miss with this shit, even from a place you have used before. Hopefully we get some nice cool weather this winter so I can actually use it, last year was pretty warm.

It's 85 here today and I've complained about the heat at least 17 times.

Pretty close. One of the essentials when we were house shopping 25 years ago was it had to have a real, built in wood fireplace.

What are they asking for a cord in your neck of the woods? Last year I think I paid $375-400. Haven't checked my guy's prices for the season yet, but I'm sure it will suck.

5100s all around, 295-70-18 Defenders, BD reverse lights, de-badged, interior LEDs, footwell LEDs, reverse LEDs, ARE cap, front receiver hitch for cooler holder, cooler holder/rod rack, backup camera, Kenwood HU, Tyger nerf bars, Husky floor liners, folding rear seats, remote battery posts, plastidip grill chrome, Powder coat bumpers.
When I was in my 20s we heated with a wood stove, fireplace insert. High tech at the time I had a catalytic combustor, which would also burn the exhaust gasses. Electricity was expensive and we were poor. I even rerouted the HVAC to distribute the heat more evenly.

When we moved I didn't give a damn about wood heat. We ended up with a house with a gas fireplace. It's nice maybe 5 or 10 times a year. Too expensive to use for primary heat downstairs.

This guy said he usually does a mix, but I asked for all pine (yes, chimney experts, I know, but I like it cause it burns easy and nice). You can usually get mesquite, pine, pecan, eucalyptus, juniper, sometimes oak/scrub oak

We have done relatively well this summer as far as wildfires go. Except for yesterday and last night when some thunderstorms rolled through our area and there were almost 5000 lightning strikes starting a lot of fires.

Thanks, it was one of the best features I liked when I first saw this house. Excuse the mess, it's not being used right now and has become a catch all of clutter.

That is a really great feature. I’m jealous, it’s been a while since we’ve lived in a house with a wood fireplace.

I remember seeing the masonry wall in your garage. I like the masonry construction. Lots of thermal mass. Your house has a lot of integrity.

    Would…

…like to live in a house like that, instead of these stick boxes.

Yeah, it was a good find. It's a Chirco home. (local custom/semi-custom) builder from back in the day. One of those they just don't build them like that anymore type of things.

Well, if you would have utilized the multi-quote function to hold on to that post as you finished catching up after exiting your coffin for the evening, you would have seen that we have already discussed that.
