And I'm just saying ... if everyone in the world thought that way, I wouldn't be here typing today, I'd be in prison, or 6ft under.

Fortunately, someone realized I had issues, and I needed help, and stretched out a hand. A lot of times, that's all it takes. And that gesture of kindness is, ultimately, why I give so much today.

But if that's not a place you can get to, I get it. Nobody's perfect, even when they think they are, and think everyone else should be equally so.

    Oh my...

I'll leave you with the below.

Personal responsibility is not the enemy of kindness or helping others. Victimhood mentality is the antithesis of both.

    Good luck.

Well... I hope @B_Pilgrim isn't on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck due to a failed timing belt. 20 years is pretty old.

I'm pretty sure he's flying out to buy the truck then shipping it back. I think he said something about not putting the preggo gf/wife through a long ass drive.

Sorry I have been AWOL. Bought the truck last Sunday as anticipated. Interior is immaculate, Toyota full inspection only turned up: timing belt, water pump (as expected), TPMS sensors, front brake rotor resurfacing (haven't felt the pulsing personally), and serpentine belt.

Unfortunately, the exterior is a little rougher cosmetically than I was expecting. Clear coat on roof is pretty well gone entirely, starting to bubble a bit on the top corners of hood too. Wheels need replacing as well, probably cheaper than having them fixed.

All that said, was able to negotiate the price down $1,500 further so I'm $15,500 all in for a one-owner well maintained DC 4x4 with 88k on it.

The vacation has been keeping me really busy so I haven't had much time to report, that's my bad. Plan is still to ship tomorrow and fly back. I'm being told It'll be 7-9 days to delivery.

I wasn't going to say it but, I was thinking it. Those of us from the area are often forced to bring up this statistic when people want to talk shit about poverty, crime, and education in our respective states.

Been hitting the sites. Just got to our hotel in Sacramento. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon and the morning to try and find some matching Sequoia cloth seats with power/heat/airbag, a retractable bed cover, and a TRD exhaust.

I'll email the videos to myself at the next airport and upload to youtube.

struck out in Rancho Cordova, the Sequoia seats turned out to be grey, they wanted $1500 for a TRD dual exhaust and there were no retractable covers to be found.

shipping company has my truck and our flight left on time so, all in all a good end to a fun trip.

if you ever find yourself in Sacramento and get a hankering for a good burger, don't believe the reviews, avoid Burgers and Brews.

driving to Austin at the end of the month and can stop in Dallas or Houston coming or going so, if anyone spots some parts between now and then lmk, maybe we can meet for a beer.

My need them sooner rather than later parts:
Sequoia Seats - tan cloth, power, heat, and airbags. want these before I do sound dampening and stereo, make it one big project.

asap parts - TRD or aftermarket exhaust
    - retractable bed cover, trying to avoid the 2k new price.
    - Wheels. like out go back with 17" alloys unless i find a deal on something else. those came in four different finishes, yeah? Needs new tires now
so I might just buy someone's compatible takeoffs while I leisurely decide on my forever set and whether or not to do small lift or leveling kit.

Maybe sometime - Driver side view mirror has a little shake, might be something i can tighten, might not. either way the chrome needs cleaning
    - rear bumper has a good ding, might replace with chrome or color match if I do any touch up paint.
    - door trim pieces have lost all their chrome finish an be most of their adhesive.

Coulda told you that. I have a decent spots but didn't realize you needed them.

If you're in the Austin area and are willing to travel a bit south west to san antonio for some good tex-mex there's a small chain called Mamacita's I'd recommend. Used to have a location closer in san marcos, but that one closed.

Blacks BBQ in Lockhart (original location) is good too.

I'm sure our texas brethren can make other recommendations in Austin or Houston and surrounding areas.
