I've had my 8" for a few years now on my 2020 and I don't have the resonator either. I love it every time I drive it. I've had people stop me to ask what it was. Keith @dirtydeeds makes great systems. If there was an automotive product hall of fame he would be in it.

    Oil Change today
    5w-30 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum
    Napa Platinum Oil Filter

Been using 0w-20 since I got the truck in November 2020. Changed due to beating on the engine more and more now that is stage 3 supercharged. Will send in a 5w-30 sample to blackstone next oil change to see any differences.

Next oil change is when I have to do tire rotation, transfer case and differential changes too (I do believe I have a slightly warped front driver rotor as I do shake a little when braking and a squeak coming from there too)

always something with this truck haha but I do love it.

    Too many mods to come
Moving from the gen4 Whipple 2.9 to the new Gen6 3.0. This should pair well with the built motor/ported head package

Gave it a good wash to remove the rooster poop.

Wife's rooster decided my truck is a nice place to roost at night, and left me this hood ornament this morning. 20250829_094602.jpg

I also installed the stock cleats I bought on this forum (thanks @vidman ) , which will come in handy.

    It has been considered.
Little jerk also occasionally gets aggressive when I am out on the lawn tractor. I have played rooster polo with a large stick a few times.

So I did my first oil change on the truck since I bought it. Not gonna lie, kind of a pain in the butt. I'm no stranger to changing my own oil, but never have on a Toyota.

My first mistake was misjudging the angle of oil coming out of the pan. The oil hit the lip of my catch pan and ricocheted 0W20 all over the inside of my wheel, tire and driveway.

After I got the pan into the correct place I finished letting it drain and once the stream started to die out, it decided to dribble quite a fair amount of oil onto my RCI skidplate which diverted it and then spilled more oil onto a different spot in my driveway.

Then I turned my attention to the filter. Of course when I went to go remove the little door on the skidplate, the allen screws were seized in there. I was able to hit them with some PB and a couple love taps with a hammer and eventually I got them out, but man did I think I was gonna either snap a bolt or strip out the head. Thankfully neither happened.

I was able to drain and change the filter fairly easily thanks to the Motivx kit I bought.

Then I refilled everything, and filled it up with 8.5qts of fresh oil. Started it, checked the dipstick, no oil on the dipstick. Added a little more, ran it again, no oil on the dipstick. Did that 2 more times until 9 full qts went into the engine (all the oil I bought). Checked it one more time and the oil level was just barely on the bottom of the dipstick.

I'm gonna run the truck tomorrow and check the oil level again, but could 9 qts still not be enough?

8-8.5 qts is enough. You must have dipstick issues.Check the tube where it fits into the block and you did put the drain plug back in right?

8.5 qts is capacity on the '21s including oil filter, but that amount usually doesn't come out though during the draining process; it's more like just under 8qts at best, so I'm guessing the truck isn't level when you read the dipstick, or it's what BR73 was saying...

I thought of that as well. My driveway does have a slight incline, and I actually did pull out into the street to re-read the dipstick at one point.

Did you buy the truck used? It may not have the correct dip stick as in too short?

Checked it this morning and sure enough it's overfilled. Guess I'll be draining a half qt out of it. I don't understand sometimes. :notsure:
