inspired by a style of Japanese fillet knife.
Handle is Oregon white oak with some red dye added when it was stabilized

I have another mini cleaver identical to this that I have not posted yet because I’m working on a special project for the sheath. The artist who has been doing my kydex is working on a plan to transfer the pattern of the Damascus onto the kydex sheath.2892994413176823844.jpgThe photo is in the upper left. He has ordered some special equipment for the project. I’m pretty excited to see if it can be done!

I made sure that he knew that nobody ever bought a knife because of the sheath and he is pursuing the project as an R&D test. But, if he does work it out, it will be pretty exciting for us both!

I have or previously had a couple of these! Are they recent acquisitions? Or part of your collection?

The 301 is a recent addition, a gift from a friend. It dates to the early 80s I think with that tang stamp.

The Marksman is the current (08/25) Buck of the Month which I just bought a couple weeks ago.

I always regretted not buying one from the brief production run years back, so I jumped at the chance to get a new one.
    0830RDSBOTM-B_3__61882.png 0830RDSBOTM-B__70249.png

The second picture in my post is a knife I designed and a custom maker (JK Handmade Knives) made for me to my specification.
It is a "modern Bowie". It was made in the mid-2000s.

The third picture is an early Buckmaster from 1984 shown with a ZT0006 from last year.

The last picture is a ZT0620, Zero Tolerance / Emerson collaboration. These are dicontinued and were produced about 10 years ago.

    Nice!!

    Congratulations on the win!

I am a fan of Spyderco knives, and Sal and his people have been very friendly over the years.
The Military is a standout in their model line.

I decided to join the fun with a Knafs Lander 1. G10 scales/D2 steel. $45. Interchangeable scales. Ben Petersen from BladeHQ started this kuul company. For those with a 3D printer, you can download and print your own scales!
The knife came with a freebie waterproof knife poster that sells for $20. Kuul beans.

I did this kick starter a few weeks ago as I have always loved the thought of a multi tool I could just never carry one due to the bulk and the fact that the blades are always an after thought and sub par. I'm pretty excited about this one though hopefully it doesn't end up in the junk drawer with the other multi tools.
