Hey Folks. Anyone have a preferred dealer here in Houston they trust for warranty work. Looks like I have the valley plate coolant leak but I have the Toyota extended warranty. Since it is a little more invasive than an oil change I am curious if there is a particular dealer/service advisor/mechanic they would drive too for something like this. I am south in League City area. Used Keating in the past and they have been ok. Thanks!

I heard DonMcGill Toyota on I-10 is good but never took my Tundras there. Don't go to Fort Bend one.

I take mine all the way to Huntsville where I installed my supercharger as I won't let anyone else touch my truck. This tech Johny is super fantastic in case you need a name. Jessica is the service advisor.

Thanks for this. Sometimes it is worth the drive to know someone is going to pay attention to details on jobs like this.

If you decide to go the Huntsville route let me know and I will put you in touch with Jessica and Johny. The tech is absolutely awesome. He did my SC install and two cycles of maintenance already.

I don't think a Toyota dealer will touch a Whipple install

    I'll add:

I'm 104k miles on the Harrop.

ZERO problems. (not counting the Harrop connector that was faulty from factory - Harrop jumped-naked to get me a new one)

    No CEL's
    no fuel issues.
no Trans issues. (he installed a Tundra Transmission tune)

They also installed my 2 AEM gauges. (AFR & Boost)

I almost went to Prospeed....but they wanted to upsell EVERY item.

    All this matters.

My belief is...keep your intake & exhaust stock...and the headaches are non-existent.
start adding a bunch of fun shit & your ride is parked in the driveway.

    mine is a daily driver.

    477hp/518tq at wheels.

    What have you learned?

    What surprised you the most?

In my 1st few month's...I was amazed how easily it disappears when not in boost.

Talked to DD Performance Research out in Sealy yesterday. He's never done a Whipple on a Tundra, but is confident he can do it since he's done the others many times over. Former Toyota Master tech who used to run with corporate on troubleshooting excursions.

I have no idea on present pricing.

    dyno was ~$200 an hour

when I had the smaller pulley put on a year ago....I think I paid similar.

Had the TRD SCer in my Tacoma and the dealer installed it which was made by Magnuson.
I can understand why they wouldnt want to do it with something they have no control over.
The good thing about the TRD SCer is it didnt affect your warranty.

Trust me, no where near or around Houston is now safe....
I was watching that accident on 290 two days ago, and I will say ya ears, but I have a lot to say about that whole incident, where the 18 wheeler was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that fucked up EVERYONE going up and down 290....

    Hold up!!
I've been driving around Houston for almost 46 years now and have never gotten into an accident.
Amazingly enough the Wife has been driving in Houston for the same amount of years with no accidents.
    Are there asshole drivers here?
    Absolutely!!!
But if you drive defensively there's no reason to get into an accident.

I didn't get into it, my wife drove past that spot 20 mins before it happened, and it cleared up when she got off work.
All I am trying to say is, that accident should not have happened. But it did.

What have I learned? From the install process? I had a checklist for the tech for some key points during install. I compiled from the SC thread here at Tundras. The tech was kind of glad I had it and he said it did come in handy. The install was flawless. I think few months later some hose cracked which I understand is common. Not related to the install. I posted a thread about it.

What surprised me the most? Hmm, is fast? Instant speed I guess. I got a Dinan dual turbo on a V12 in my garage so I m used with the turbo lag, but more speed as I pull almost 800HP on the beast. This SC give me instant speed which is different feel than the turbo.

I don't floor it much so yeah it drives nice, is a sleeper for sure. Even the gas mileage is not bad, almost 310 miles on a 3 quarter of a tank. Perhaps pull around 400 miles on the full 38 Gallon tank? I only have 12K miles on my truck now so time will tell but I don't plan to abuse it. I do abuse my V12 instead :)
