OEM radio shuts off sporadically

Yeah, so I'll be jamming some tunes and out of the blue the unit will freeze up and then shut off. It always resets after a minute or so and everything is fine until it does it again. I've checked wires and harnesses, didn't find anything out of the ordinary. Everything was tight. I could have a broken wire further down stream that I couldn't reach.
Anyone else have this issue?

Have you thought bout aftermarket unit?

 

When was the last time you replaced your battery? When my battery started to go my radio would go black and reset.

 

I have!! But I'm not sure which one.

 

I've had it since I bought the truck. A new battery might be needed anyway.

 

If your battery is bout 5yrs old. May as well look into a new one and see if that fix the radio's issue.
How often does the issue happens?
