    Hi everyone,

I’m Steve and I just got my 2021 Silver Tundra SR5 about a month ago. WOW, what an upgrade from my 2015 Tacoma (which I loved). So far I’ve gotten the windows tinted a bit darker to help with the Texas heat and of course because it looks cool. My model did not come with remote start so just got an aftermarket kit from 12Volt. Love this truck!

I appreciate all the experience here and look forward to meeting good folks and learning more about my Tundra.

    Yeah...it's a Natural Progression.
Was a Tacoma Guy for years.
Until I needed a tow vehicle, dont regret it one bit. Had the TRD SuperCharger in my last Tacoma and loved it!!
So of course I have the Magnuson in my Tundra!!
    Love the Truck!!!

I'm biased. But compared to a tundra the Tacoma does nothing for me.

Every time I'm in a Tacoma i feel it's lacking in every way... comfort, power, size, the drive.

    Congrats on tundra ownership

Get a pedal commander or banks pedal monster. Makes the 5.7 feel like a 5.7 instead of neutered engine

    Again...
    Install the TRD Supercharger.
    It totally changes the Tacoma!!!

It's more the size of the interior. And the seats being so low to the floor.

To each is their own. I know the taco is a great truck. It's just not better than the tundra, to me.

Supercharger kits aren't cheap, I'd put that money towards the difference for a tundra.

    Just me

As I said,I started out with a Tacoma.
Loved the Truck especially after the Supercharger.
Moved on to the Tundra for the towing capacity and the Magnuson made it even better.
The one thing I liked about the Tacoma over the Tundra is its off roading ability.
The Tundra is just to big to fit on a lot of trails.
It is great for the beach where you have plenty of room though.
And as I grow closer to Geezerhood off roading isnt as high on my list as it once was.

Yes. For MAX OFF ROADING the Tacoma is better.

Made the switch too. From 2004 TRD Tacoma to 2024 TRD Pro. Won't be going back. And yes, the Tacoma's are more off-road capable, but the Tundra's are just more roomy & comphy..

I thought remote start was standard after like 2017. Just three clicks of the lock and hold the last click.

Back in the late 1980s, when toyota (lexus) began development on the Lexus LS400 , Toyota spent $1 Billion dollars on the research and development of the LS400.

$400,000,000.00 of that development went to the engine design. 4.0-liter 1UZ-FE V8 engine.

The core architecture of that drive train/ drive line is what the Gen 2 and Gen 2.5 tundra used.

So, in reality, the Tundra got some world class luxury car derivative of that architecture. The great feel of the 5.7 liter and it's transmission comes from that fact.

I think it's really cool. One other reason I love the Tundra. Decent truck and has some luxury heritage. Tundras are smooth for that reason
