What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Just got back from a camping trip. Only about 85 miles away not counting a ferry ride otherwise it would have been 150 miles via the slab thru Seattle going around the Puget Sound. Tundra was fully loaded and towed my Aliner pop up. Had great weather, not hot or cold imo. A beached Grey whale was restored and on display I’m Pt. Townsend. Got some beach walks in and e-bike rides with wife. Saw a family of otter in the water and blue herons.

Yes, it’s around 20 ft tall.

 

Ye olde drain and refill on the trans (53k miles). Fluid looked darker than I'd like to see at this mileage, so I'll do it again in 5k miles (next oil change). Also changing the oil/filter, general inspection while I'm under there and skids are off.

 

have you installed a transmission cooler?

 

The Olympic Peninsula always has great weather (even in winter in my opinion); but yet again, I lived in Whidbey for a long while and loved it. One day I'll move back. Looks like a great time

 

Went to remove the TRD skid plate today and found that the front two bolts were already gone. I'm guessing I bought it this way or it happened at a local shop.

Any idea what I replace these with? In the instructions there's no spec on these bolts other than 12mm head as they come attached to the plate.

 

Factory was M8x1.25 thread pitch with 12mm heads.

 

Not yet, but it's on the to do list. Will probably wait until Fred Anderson has it's next 25% off sale

 

How long? And do these not have a spacer attached to them on the backside of the skid plate?

I haven’t gotten around to working in it yet but I was wondering if I’d be able to actually wiggle anything into that tight space at the back of the bracket.

Seems to be cooling down too. Probably a spike in September but we'll knock em out before winter if FA makes that sale happen

 

Sounds good to me. We are both going to get that oem parts list, is the actual cooler in that parts list?

As for parts, I intended to put together the OEM parts a recent poster graciously shared. The only thing missing is some flat bar for the bottom of the mount. I've got a sawzall, dremel, and brute strength if needed lol. I planned on the setrab brackets for the sides.
