    Too many mods to come

They didn't update their site for the Toyota stuff well. All they did was update the name to the 3.0 but much of that info is from when the 2.9 was around

I'm temped to. 10% off website listed price and I'll ship it to you on my dime. Haha. Or to Sniv. Could even meet up with him in SLC to drop it off in person the next time he's up that way. Sorry to drag you in to this @snivilous and volunteer you..

I'm just frustrated with the mess. Now I'm being a drama queen. :annoyed:

A little digging around and the new FPR they sent is a stock part for a Flex Fuel tundra. Just so I can get my numbers correct when I speak with them, stock nonFF fuel pressure is 38-44 psi; FF fuel pressure is ~55 psi? And stock Fuel Injectors are 440 cc? or 480cc?

So the regulator allows for 25% more fuel. A stock 440cc injector at 25% increase would allow up to 550cc of flow, assuming linearity. If it's 480cc, it's up to 600cc. But HP for HP, 25% for fuel means 25% more power, which limits the power output to a safe 380-390 WHP.

Are my maths correct? Just trying to wrap my head around their thought process while putting together this kit.

It's all bullshit regardless of what math games you want to play, the website says $7300 and you get injectors, and you didn't get injectors. So they either need to refund you the $800 for injectors, or send you injectors. It has nothing to do with how the truck is setup. "Oh sorry, it's actually a 2018 I forgot" and then you get extra hardware? Fuck that.

Also it's far from linear for increase. The DW650 sheet is:

    2 bar - 498cc
    3 bar - 620cc (+50% pressure, +24% flow)
    4 bar - 718cc (+100% pressure, +44% flow)
    5 bar - 790cc (+150% pressure, +58% flow)

So 25% more flow from the regulator is probably like a 15% increase, so that 440 is a 500, and the 480 is a 550. Quite a ways off from a 43psi setup running 600+ cc/min. So even if you have this fancy newer setup that flows more, it still flows LESS at MORE pressure than the injectors that should've come with the kit. So you get shafted regardless. But I digress, they should send you injectors.

    I certainly don't disagree.

I was going to pull up the DW650 that you posted to look for linearity; thanks for posting that up for me. Just prepping to squelch the bologna; I'm much better at communicating in writing than I am verbally unless I completely know my stuff, so I need some notes to help me. Ha.

I know what you mean. I would just lay on the fact that you know people with Whipple's, and they got injectors with them, you want your injectors too. And if they say well stuff has changed, well the price didn't change and the website lists that, and injectors aren't cheap and this was a big selling point for you was it came with big injectors. If they can't get that to work, you'd like to send the product back.

And maybe I'm retarded, I thought your truck already had a Whipple? So if this is another Whipple, well your first one came with injectors and you want the same package as before that you paid the same price for.

Between you and me, you're talking to the retarded the person in this conversation. I purchased a '21 end of last year, knowing my '13 would need a break at some point, and a few other reasons. The '13 has been run hard the last 12 years and hasn't let me down once. In my retardedness, knowing I would be bored driving a stock truck and enjoying how well a SC'd truck pulls my trailers, I ordered a Whipple for my '21 literally a week or two before the Whipple on my '13 disintegrated itself.

So the '13 has been torn apart since April; in July, Whipple did me a solid and replaced my 2.9 Gen4 with a 3.0Gen6 because they didn't have any parts to fix the 2.9. Since I've been working out of the '21, I can't take it out of service to install the blower yet, but since I was making progress on the cam tower reseal and cam chain tensioner replacement on the '13, I decided to make sure all my ducks were in a row for whenever I can get the '13 back in to service. But now the rear end is going out on the '21 but the dealer is deaf as a door nail and won't fix it even though it's still under warranty, so I've got to get the '13 back in order sooner rather than later.

Clear as mud, right? Ya, I'm retarded. I own two tundras, spend more money on two blowers, and neither truck is SC'd at the moment, with only one truck limping along. If it were February, it wouldn't be a big deal. But it's August and I'm busy and all get out to make money to last through the winter next year.

Nice meeting you Rey and helping load that transmission. I'm sure it work either way.

Welp, phone call with Whipple was useless. You can only speak with a Rep, not a Tech. You have to email the tech and wait in the line for them to respond. Also, they won't even talk about a return/refund since I purchased it through a dealer.

When I asked about the missing fuel injectors, he stated that ALL 19-21 trucks are flex fuel truck and come equipped with bigger injectors. I replied simply that mine is not, and even if that were the case, why was I sent a flex fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pump? If it were flex fuel already, I wouldn't need the regulator. Per their web page, the kit comes with:
    • Deatsch Werks 340LPH high flow fuel pump with new fuel filter (not included with flex fuel based vehicles)

At that point he realized he was in over his head and simply referred me to the tech side, but couldn't transfer me and told me I needed to email them. So next week sometime I'll hopefully hear back from them. :bananadead:

Thanks for the info @Mdl. Just to make sure you guys know, @reywcms and @Mdl , I have a full kit (well "full" kit) from whipple not just the head unit. Whipple sent me just a replacement head and some bits and bobs for the '13, but that will go back on that truck shortly.

Ah, that explains the confusion. I was going I swear we talked a year ago about your truck with the Whipple, and I thought you had that get serviced but now we're talking about a new Whipple and I don't understand why :D

This reminds me I have 5-0 650s that were fine on motor 1, the shop blamed them for issues on motor 2 & getting 700's from army (don't remember which) solved it & you can have them if you keep the system.

That sounds nice. Let me know if that's the route your going...since your total makeover of your truck. Might as well up to the 3.0.:D
But @blenton hopefully they do you right!

Thanks for the offers and help @centex @e30cabrio @snivilous @Mdl. I will keep you posted. I prolly just need to walk away from it for a bit cuz I'm getting a little hot under the collar about it.

Ya, I was trying not to be the forum braggart, popping in to say 'Dudes, I just bough ANOTHER supercharged tundra! Cuz I'm way more awesomer than the rest of you hosers! Look at how much money I [used to] have that I can spend on upgrades!' Although the trucks are a lot of fun to drive, I make a living out of the back of them, so I can justify the cost over a brand new pickup. And I was playing the Whipple Whistle While you Wait like all of the other forum members that ordered Whipple's. Then I had to eat some crow when my my gen4 blew up after praising it to the moon and back.

I haven't gone down that route yet, as I was hoping for a quick resolution from Whipple. I CC'd the vendor on my initial email to Whipple, and on the email that I'm currently composing. I don't know what kind of leverage they have with the Whipple, or if it's working against me to include them, but I figure it's the most transparent thing to do. I don't think I'm trying to get away with something sneaky, or asking for more than I ordered. But like I said, I should prolly walk away and cool down for a minute. Besides, July through November are always insane for me at work. Right now, that's just adding to the frustration, and for why that box didn't get ripped open the second it showed up on my doorstep.

You have more patience and self-control than most. Is a return and credit card company dispute an option or even worth it? Sucks for the dealer, but that'll def get them engaged. I really do hate seeing these stories, though. Obviously for the person, but also for the entire market. That's a big player to flop so badly.

It is funny, I read it as off. (not that I wanted it) If I got another blower, it would most likely be Harrop.

Or at least I'll let @snivilous figure it out, and I'll still be ahead of the game

Thanks. I feel like a child kicking and screaming about not getting sprinkles on their ice cream cuz that's what was on the picture. Hah.

CC dispute is still an option, though I prefer to work it out other ways first. I've disputed a junkyard motor purchase 6 months after the purchase (it was listed as running when pulled and showed up with gravel in the under the valve cover and in the valves - literally, packed with gravel). That was after a zillion emails, phone calls, texts, plus a call and letter from a lawyer down the street that did me a favor. He was the one that told me to use the CC dispute or it would cost me more for his time than the motor was worth.
