Lasic is a lot cheaper now. A lot. Not sure if cataract can be pre-empted with that.

 

If you're a candidate for cataract surgery I highly recommend it.

I had my right eye done about five weeks ago and the difference was immediate and amazing. They also correct your vision. 24 hours after the surgery my right eye vision was 20/20. I had my last follow up today and talked to the Dr about getting mono vision. Your dominant eye, in my case the right one gets distance vision corrected. The other gets reading corrected. I've had that in contacts for years and it worked well for me. She gave me a +1.50 contact for my right eye and said to try it for two weeks, if it's good she'll send a letter to the surgeon for the left eye. I spent a couple of hours this evening reading and all is well. I'll see tomorrow how the distance vision is.
The surgery is no big deal, the procedure is about 10 minutes. Total visit about 1.5 hours, including for the anesthesia to be administered.

For the last couple of years I've had readers in the truck, living room, shed, back porch, computer desk and bedroom. I'll be glad to be rid of that.

 

I love the Studio C skits about Scott Sterling in sports. Dude is committed to the comedy, as he actually gets hit in the face repeatedly for the skit to get the different slo-mo shots.

I got curious and read about the history of Badminton. I wasn’t even sure how to spell it. The thing they hit is called a shuttlecock. It’s an Olympic sport. Easy to learn, difficult to master. Those are the jai lights.

 

Was bored last night and ran across this beauty last night on Netflix. Pretty damn good, and even though this takes place in the early 1900's you still get Beth Dutton and her fantastic attributes in this chilling horror tale.

Totally safe for work, she has a bit of her great genes in the show, but not in the intro itself.

 

Had cataract surgery on left eye two weeks ago with multifocal inserted. It is similar to the multifocal contact it replaced but has some ghosting so not 100% clarity. Was scheduled for right eye today but postponed because I may do regular lens in right eye instead.

 

Ghosting? Like blurry spots/lines in your vision?

 

Yes - blurring caused by shadows. Think of a shadow font but blurred instead of sharp. I still see 20-30 but without clarity.

 

I would go insane.

 

You know me Adam - I already am insane. I have been wearing left eye (non-dominant) multifocal contact and distance only right eye contact for 15-20 years. I was hoping to do multifocal for both eyes but can live with one distance and one reading. I have had bad vision since I was in first grade.

 

I tried multifocal contacts before I went to monovision, it didn't work for me.

 

I cannot survive without some reading ability (without glasses).

 

I guess forget how lucky I am that basic corrective lens seem to be magic for me. It adds so much sharpness and clarity.

Now, I also never bemoaned needing glasses. Parents, older siblings, teachers, etc. all had glasses so I never thought they were a burden or an issue.
