    Hello,

Has anyone experienced an issue with no audio or volume control after the truck has been sitting in the sun? I have a 2025 Limited, and ONLY when the truck has been in the sun for 4+ hours do I experience no audio controls. I've switched to all sources, no audio. After driving for 10-15 minutes, the audio all of a sudden resumes and Sirius refreshes all stations.

I did find another person on Facebook with the exact same issue and he stated, "after dealer replaced the head unit, the Amplifier, and the Equalizer, it was found that the RF antenna Cable head(a month long back order) had a fray up at the antenna(shark fin) and the signal wire was shorting to ground in the heat(daytime). which is why it worked perfectly fine in the evening."

Anyone else also have this issue?

    Thanks.

Not heat related, but I have a 2024 Corolla that would randomly lose audio as well. My workaround is power cycling the head unit, I'm not sure about any root cause fix.

Thanks, I tried power cycling each time it happened and it doesn’t seem to fix the problem. It only happens when the exterior is hot from the sun. The audio typically comes back after the cabin is cooled down with the AC on.

Just went through this, had my 2025 limited at the dealer 4 separate times. I finally threw a temper tantrum and got them to give me my purchase price toward a trd pro. They had replaced my equalizer and amp and were expecting me to wait for another round of “what would toyota corporate replace next”. Btw, i found a thread that said he could bang on the dash at the 10 oclock position behind the steering wheel and the sound would come back. Sure enough that worked on my truck as well but only temporary each time. So yeah i think the antenna assembly is pinched behind the dash and shorting out on some trucks.

Appreciate the info. The constant variable I’ve noticed is the heat. The truck has audio when garaged, rainy day, cloudy, cool/cold temp. Your post and the Facebook post are the only ones I’ve seen so far about this. I don’t understand why heat seems to trigger it though.

Yeah i would drive to work in the morning with sound and have no sound on the way home in the afternoon because of the heat. It will get worse over time at least mine did. Next time it happens bang hard on the bezel right behind the steering wheel with your left hand and the sound will come back. Might have to hit it a couple of times.

Thanks, I’m optimistic that maybe I have the same issue as the guy on Facebook. He said in a post that it never cut out again after they replaced the wire. The problem is, as you mentioned, it could be pinched anywhere.

The heat probably makes something expand and contacts the wire and thus shorting it. Once the AC kicks in and cools everything down, the piece shrinks back into place and no more shorts.

Thank you for the advice on this. Making me think it’s in the dash maybe.

Did you use the Lemon Law or did they just give in and buy it back?
