HI, I have a little problem with my 15 Tundra, nothing major. when I'm driving on the highway on a windy day I hear this really annoying sound coming from the passenger side windshield. I don't know what it is but it's really annoying and it only happens on a really windy day. So I took it to the dealer and they told me I'm not the first this is happen to. So they told me they fix it, so I was driving on the highway today and I could still hear it, maybe it's the seal on the windshield that needs replacement I don't know. I had a 96 and 01 Tacoma that did the same thing on a windy day but I never got it fixed so I never knew what it was, but my 06 Tacoma never did it. So has anyone experience this? Some advice would be grateful thanks.

This is not my tundra but makes the exact same noise

Had that issue on my 2011 Taco. Looked like it was a window seal and air came in whistling. Very annoying. It would make noise above a certain speed; windy day or not. Haven't had that issue with the Tundra yet.

Same with my 2007 Tacoma. Not on my tundra that I've noticed.

I have an annoying whistle on my driver side. I do have in channel weather tech rain guards . I was thinking the whistle was coming from them . Very annoying! Keep us posted if you find a fix thanks

My Tundra does the same in high wind, more specifically a strong gust so it is intermittent. I found that the cab / doors does flex & it looses its seal between the cab & door temporarily. The seam is already tight but considering asking if the doors on can close any tighter on my next service

I get a little howling/whisteling wind noise but nothing like that screaching sound.
Mine sounds like it might come from the window rain guards but not really sure...maybe wind getting in from a weather seal?

Driving in the wind sucks either way. I drove all day on a windy day last week with gusts around 45-50mph. Was happy to get home.

I have the howling sound, drivers side when driving into a 20 mph wind at 75 mph down the interstate. Mine sounds like a deep howling sounding like coming from front bumper or wheelwell area though on the drivers side.

So finally Toyota dealer called me to bring my truck in to change the moulding on the windshield, witch they say was causing the loud whistle on windy days while I was driving. So got my moulding changed and I was driving thru a very windy day on Sunday, and I didn't hear a sound :)
The new moulding is flush with my windshield, the old one had a lip.
But ofcorse I forgot to take a picture of the old moulding But no worries I took a picture of my neighbors tundra witch they haven't changed their moulding and theirs make noise while they drive on a windy day too.

Here's my neighbors tundra same moulding I had on mine.
    image.jpg

Here's my new moulding very happy with it :)

Do they remove the windshield or is the stripping just changed alone?

I usually hear a loud intermittent noise, but only on the days I eat beans and chili. I wonder what it is. It usually accompanied by a foul smelling odor, that I need to open up the windows, then it goes away. Weird.

My '13 Tacoma the windows would rattle, probably just a bad deal? I bought a Tundra to alleviate the problem.

My 2017 Tundra had a similar noise took it to dealer and they discovered the hood was out of alignment. They adjusted the hood and the noise has disappeared.

I'm having the same problem on a 2017 Tundra. It is back at the dealer and they are trying to figure out what it is. I'll tell them about the windshield seal. https://youtu.be/ksJ2xqtwXzw

I thought my cabin noise was bad but that is just crazy. How in the hell are they letting these leave the factory like that? Totally unacceptable.

How ironic that this noise led me to stumble into this forum?

Same noise here and if it's only the molding, than at least it's not such an invasive repair.

roll your passenger window down the smallest amount possible and it stops for me. it seems the window rolls up too far and pinches the molding causing it to make this noise. only does this on windy days in cross winds.

I've been intermittently hearing this annoying sound for a few days now and after stumbling onto this thread, I looked to find this. I know some folks have mentioned the windshield stripping as the culprit and it may very well be, but once I popped this little flap back in its place (matching the drivers side), I haven't heard the noise. That little flap very well may contribute to the horrendous musical instrument that my truck had turned into! The door seal itself is a little funny and slightly out of shape when compared to the drivers side, but I don't know if it matters.

Now, if I could only figure out the fix so that I can get the heat to stop blowing on my face when it's set to "feet" only!

Did Toyota fix this or a windshield repair place? Just got redirected to this issue after posting a few minutes ago about mine. It drove me freaking crazy for 5 hours on the road yesterday.

What did you do here exactly? Hard to tel from just the picture. I’ll try anything to make this stop!

I had that on mines - turned out the window was lowered just a touch and I didn’t see it due to the rain guard
