One Example of what I mean is little known feature of GMC, Chevys starting about the year 1998: push the light button fast 3 times, and it disables all lights until pushed 3 times again.

Do first Ginn tundras have any little known features?

If you don't change your lower ball joints with OEM units, your truck turns into Lightnin' McQueen.

If you press the gas, brake, and e-stop pedals at the same time your truck takes a screen shot.

If you run out of gas turn your gas cap clockwise three clicks. That should give you another three miles of fuel to get to the gas station.

Your truck has a secret smoke machine function. Simply fill your muffler with transmission fluid.

Another secret feature, if you hold down all the window buttons for 10 seconds, it gets windy.

Wouldn't call it a secret, but as long as you're going over 25mph and already have the cruise control set previously, it will accelerate up to speed for you when you turn it back on.

60/40 fold out makes a good dedicated dog perch for riding shotgun.

Also, there's a super secret place in the rear fold out to stash a few bucks and forget about for 20 years.

The ABS system really sucks and will try to kill you on snow or gravel. It's easily disabled by pulling the relays.

You can disable the daytime running lights by unplugging a grey connector between the battery and the fender.

The valve cover bolts often become extremely loose, literally finger tight, and you can fix a leak just by tightening them even hand tight with a ratchet.

Now I'm sold on buying one of these. Back when the Gen 1 was out I don't remember anyone having big water bottles, but now everyone has them and none of the modern cars fit them in their cupholders.

Think it depends on trim/ front seat configuration. My cupholders fit a Nalgene or a 40oz Hydroflask just fine.

The fold down center arm rest with the 60/40 bench seat easily holds my giant yeti coffee mug and a normal sized water bottle.

My 1st-Gen Tundra came with a hidden factory option I didn’t even know about — the ‘California Comfort Package.’ Turns out the air intake and A/C/cowl double as a luxury condo for homeless rodents. Guess Toyota was way ahead of the whole ‘tiny homes’ movement…

Turning the passenger airbag off with your spare key in front of your obnoxious passenger WILL prompt them to not ride with you again.

Ask me how I know. ;)

HOLY CRAP! I guess one of the previous 6 owners did that. I just thought "nice, no daytime running lights, hate those things."

Today I learned if I get out of the truck and lock it with the auto lock button, my wife cannot use the same button to let me back in. I guess that's there to prevent a coat hanger and slightly down window being used to break into the truck. (Both good and bad).

With the cargo light on, quickly switch it off and back on again to get the cargo light to stay on for about 15 minutes.

At least with my 00 model, if the headlights are in the "on" position while the engine is running, they will turn off when the ignition is switched "off" and will turn back on the next time the ignition is switched "on" so in the winter time when I go to work in the dark and leave in the dark I do not have to switch them on and off using the stalk. They automatically come on with the ignition when left in the "on" position.
