I don't blame you for using it for a second home. Great thing is you can write it off as business expense and a second home.

When you look for a trailer, this is just my opinion:

14-16K rating. Don't mess around with 5200 lb axles. 7-8k axles. I have 8k on all my trailers. The brakes are superior and the axles hold up to the beating from potholes and heavy loads. If you can, get the 17.5 wheel and tire package. These are my 17.5's on 8k axles and I will never go back.

    Ramps vs tilt deck.

unless you get monster fold up ramps, I would skip the pull out ramps. They are a PITA to take out all the time, pins get lost and you can have a ramp shoot out on the highway, and people steal them all the time.
Downside to fold up ramps is the dovetail can hang a little low. I'm assuming you go out in the desert a bit before setting up. You can drag the ass end of the trailer offroad pretty easy. IMG_8830.jpg

Tilt deck is the way to go in my opinion. You just need the right tilt deck. The style you want:

The style you do not want due to obvious width of your rig. Now the fenders are most likely removable, but do you wanna do that every time?

Now that you are in the big boy club, might want to look into Centramatics wheel balancers. I run them on all my trailers and even on my truck. Tire life and how smooth it rides is life changing. Even with 37's, you will see a huge improvement.

Since you have so much overhang from the 1172, you will need to get a truss hitch extension.

This is about as cheap as you can go. One of my buddies had an extension that was 2000.00, but he also didn't cause any damage to his hitch or frame.

No problem Alex. If I can prevent you from making the same/similar mistakes as I did....winning.

We have a HD truck PM going if you want to join and waste a metric buttload of time reading. It's over 300 pages now.

Not wrong. That is why I started the HD truck PM. pretty much all 30 members say its 100% better than any of the GM/Ford/Ram sites.

If you change your mind or have some diesel q's...you know how to reach me.
