Just watched this too. Not sure if it applies to 2.5gen? Didn’t realize this was an issue. I run a 200lb tent, 100lb rack, full decked system.

Looks like a good idea to do. Especially if you have weight on the bed.

Thank you for posting this! I've inspected the bed factory bed welds on my 2014 w an OVRLND, and had seen a homebrew solution similar to this, but required welding. I dig this set-up and will be purchasing one for my truck!

Or maybe not! Shipping is listed at $200....half again as much as the product itself.

Talked w R4T support and the shipping cost was a glitch in their system. From Denver to Flagstaff was only $55 for shipping, way better than the $200.

    Looking forward to the install!

Well just put a cap on. Not seeing any deflection. I'm staying Pat for now I guess. I certainly Could see how a lod like that especially that sticks over the front could put more force to that area.

my sold 2007 was loaded with 1500# of oak dozens of times a year for short periods. Other than the rust, she was pretty stout it seemed.

I think if you stay mostly on the road, it would be fine. It's the offroad flexing in addition to the weight that will cause problems eventually. I'm getting it put on mine soon since I have a cabover camper on it. I should inspect it actually.
