I’m 99% sure I took the busted flare off and there were no holes going through the fender horizontally from left to right. It was double sided tape where the flare contacted the fender then screws going up into the fender above the tire. Not a huge deal and honestly if I just find some time I can probably get crafty with some sort of backing and bondo.

The other possible is, if there's truly no fender holes, to go flareless. They sold some DCs that way. I can rattle off the names of three or four DC owners on here with that setup

A wealth of information in this thread, as usual for this crew! These guys are the best.

OP, for what it’s worth, my Tundra is similar to yours. I have the one piece flares, but SR5 badging and cloth seats. My original window sticker doesn’t say anything about XSP either. If you take a peek at the pictures that Bubba posted (and in my truck thread), you’ll see that mine had no double-sided tape nor holes in the bodywork. The flares attach only underneath/inside the wheelwells and then I used a regular rubber trim from Amazon where it contacts the body.

If I were in your shoes, I would try to have somebody repair that flare or keep looking for one to pop up on eBay or in a junkyard.

nice truck! Yeah it sounds like we’ve got odd ball flares for some reason. The real kick in the nuts is I had a large chunk of what’s missing on mine riding around in the back seat for about 6 months but then threw it out like a moron thinking is just pick up another one. Live and learn…

There was a texas edition double cab, no flares just a chrome strip that bolted along the fender.
There were base model double cabs with no flares and no trim IIRC

The 2 piece flares are not a bad idea though, sure they have stand-offs where clips go in them, you can use double sided tape squares on these stand-offs where the plastic clips would go and clip into the body, and double sided tape along the top edge of the flare.
As said previously in thread, the special editions WERE built off an SR5 and then upgraded so any searches would bring you to a standard SR5. The same with the "sport" tacoma and tundra. They have painted door handles, painted bumpers, painted grille, different wheels, different shocks, and a hood scoop BUT when you reverse search the VIN it shows its an SR5.
The one piece flares are nice looking, definitely not something you see every day. I have only seen them a few times on here, never IRL.
