And guys are getting on to me about Toyota letting your drive away when truck has been running and accidentally driveway away without your truck keys. I don't use the lane detector. To much to depend on.

I've told this story before, but the first time I used LTA was on a long road-trip with my wife. It caused her to wake from a nap and ask me, "Why are you swerving so much?" LOL

Correction to prior post - I drove a bunch today taking kid to college - College Station to Shreveport, and on to Houston in 2025 Limited Hybrid 4x4. Finally figured out a BETTER, but not cured LTA/LSA comfort setting during the drive. Turned out my wish wash / curb to curb drift was from my settings. Still is far from perfect, and not even close to Ford Blue-cruise, but made mine ‘better’.
    - Cruise on & set
    - Turned on LTA from button on steering wheel
    - Go to IP settings and select LTA by holding center select button down
    - new screen opens, make sure Lane Center (center trace) is ON
    - make sure FULL sensitivity is MAX, not MID
I was on TX190 & US79 which aren’t the best road with marked lanes & LTA worked better as long as there were consistent curb & center lines. Got a bit whacky in some areas where turn lanes made the lane wider than normal. On I69 it worked pretty well. The Swerving Marvin feel was significantly reduced where the truck is hunting for the lane center, it stayed pretty true. Setting the LTA to full sensitivity made the big difference for me. Toyota still has a lot to improve, it’s a driving for assistance only, & far from hands-free, but thought I’d share what I found in 8.5 hour drive.

They should have upgraded TSS by now imo we still get 2.5, that’s the cause of this

Thanks for this. I’m anxious to try this setting on Max. Honestly I didn’t remember a sensitivity setting in there but it’s been a couple yrs since last in that menu.

I've noticed zero difference when I've played with the sensitivity settings, so I just turned Lane Centering off and drive like I always have.

I do like the lane departure thing when your on the interstate in a cross wind, your going side to side anyways and it does some of the fighting for you so its no so fatiguing on a long haul

but toyota, you need to update this shit to TSS 3.0 at least. lets go, forget about shock seats and stupid shit and get some of these last basics done

Same. Until they get it right, I'll keep my own lane.

It's too twitchy for me. I have shut off lane switching, too, just because. I probably should turn it back on as I should be using my turn signal at all times when switching lanes. Adaptive cruise, I always use. It's the one thing that makes driving long distances easier for me.

I think the Lane Departure thing is a safety risk.

The day I drove my truck home from the dealership, I unknowingly activated Lane Departure while attempting to set the cruise control. Another vehicle was merging onto the interstate and clearly didn't see me in the right lane, so I attempted a quick lane change without using my turn signal to avoid getting side-swiped. The damn Lane Departure sounded the alarm and attempted to steer my brand new truck back into the other vehicle. I had to slam on the brakes to narrowly avoid the collision.

I had no idea what had just happened, so I pulled over and got the Owner's Manual out. That was the last time Lane Departure was ever on in my truck.

I think it's a great feature. People will think you're a little drunk, hence unpredictable, and will keep a bit more distance.

How come lane departure doesn't have collision avoidance to work in unison together? It seems badly needed here.

Thanks for sharing the sensitivity settings, will give that a try. Hopefully it makes lane assist more usable.

Is that something I ask dealer to do? Mine keeps too short of a distance and brakes a bit later than I would, which results in a more aggressive break than if I was breaking myself... Is that expensive service?

I believe the dealer can do the calibration, another question is do they want to..

All new passenger vehicles are required to have Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in US. My Tundra was under warranty & I had a concern from adding 35” tires on the already installed factory 3” lift, & it didn’t cost anything. It’s a safety calibration check Toyota dealerships do with their Techstream interface. You may have to pay for checks in some situations, as they’re recommended after any mods lifting ride height - larger tires, level/lifts - grill guards, windshield replacement & especially after any front end accident. I was told there’s a grill-mounted lidar sensor doing distance measurement & windshield cameras doing lane departure/centering that have very specific triangulation. Toyota does the check on all of their factory or distributor installed 3” Tundra lifts.

What do you have the distance set to? There's 3 available. Didn't know if you seen that or not.
