02 AC drivers door interior pull/closing handle is loose. Advise request

Can the 2 small square plugs be pried out to access loose fastners? Dunno!

 

If the below handle is what you are speaking of, they both have somewhat of a hinge. The right plug hinges on left and the left plug hinges on the right. You might even have to take the door card off and see if the back screws are loose.

Sue of 1A-Auot does a good job showing how.

 

Your second pic shows the handle I have an issue with, the forward end has become loose from the door panel slightly. Looks like I need to remove the door panel to do anything.

 

Here's a zoomed-out pic of the door panel, screws holding the door pull mount plate @BubbaW is showing are circled. You probably have one or more loose. Hopefully you can just tighten them back up.

Mine came apart in my hand (actually the passenger's hand). There are 2 screws that secure the handle to housing from the rear, but the plastic inserts were broken/stripped out. In fact, the prior owner had merely glued it back it with some RTV. It worked until it didn't...

My solution was to order a new one (~ $50 as I recall).

(I don't know why I save all this old shit...)

You’ll get a nice discount, and they may even let you pickup from your local dealer, if that dealer is participating (you won’t get the discount if you call/walk to their counter directly).
