i roughed in a 4" drain (quietly :spy:) in the concrete i was going to use for a toilet. hose bibs are coming a little later on. gonna be a long run to get plumbing to it, prob about 300'. not sure if i'd be able to run the shower drain to it since i didn't plan for it.
electrical conduit is already stubbed in the concrete for the panel. doubt i'd need RV hookups. we don't really do the camping. and we have a family of 7. idk if my budget will ever alot for an RV big enough for all of us haha

Had a leak in our master shower the other week, so I had to cut the wall of our linen closet open and fix it. I had already repaired the wall, but today I installed some new shelving.

Had a tree fall through our fence and hit our garage on the 4th. Happened to have one long branch I hadn’t hauled away yet and my wife’s friend was about to pay for those wooden plate holders for her wedding, I said give me a half hour, she wanted 20 and left with 41 haha.

    Had to play Sparky today.

The original QAF breakers installed in the house 22yrs ago to feed the bedroom circuits had been tripping here or there recently but not due to actual faults or excessive load (I checked). I had one of the three (middle blue button in the following pic) eat shit a couple years back, so I replaced all it with an updated QAF2 AFCI breaker. Should've done all three at the time, but the price of those f'n things was absurd, so I held off. Only to find it's 10% more today. :angrygirl:

Anyway, last straw was two nights ago. GFCI breaker tripped around midnight and the ceiling fan cut off, wife got too hot, and walked two floors down to reset the breaker. So ... did that a couple hours ago so I don't land in the doghouse should it happen again.

No pics of the inside of my panel, don't want @bmf4069 or any other pros to call me out  (even though my panel is nice and orderly, I'm sure there's something someone could find... maybe for another time)

Anyone in here have a lot of experience with plaster walls? I understand the fundamentals, I just have a very specific situation (two actually) I need to tackle and could use some ideas/guidance.

The Canadian smoke seems like it's been all summer here. Air quality alerts about every day. Last year was a lot of hazy days too.

Where is here? State and general direction, not your city or address!
I'm not a spring chicken anymore, but growing up in MI all my life I never remember this happening before, at least to a level that stands out like it does now.
It's not like this is the first time (in 50+ years) Canada has had a lot of fires right? Sure has been frequent the last couple years though.

I read a little into that. I am not convinced the fires are naturally starting but without getting into that type of stuff, from what I read:

Average fires in the past burned yearly at like 50 million acres or thousand whatever, and the last couple years its been 100's. I think this summer they went over the average before summer even started. So there is still the annual summer burn, its just been like 5x the last few years and now we are seeing the smoke.

Yeah - the Yoopers loved to call us that

we used to refer to ourselves as “Loopers” because we were at the very upper part of the lower peninsula. Didn’t quite fit in with the Yoopers and definitely didn’t fit in with the Fudgies from lower Michigan.

The Northern Michigan I grew up in was basically a huge tourist area 3 seasons out of the year. The big attraction was Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island and there were a ton of fudge shops up there. So the people who didn’t live up there were referred to as “Fudgies” because they were vacationing up north and buying fudge.

The best fudge up there is from Murdicks. They’ve been making it since the 1800’s and developed it so it doesn’t melt. https://www.originalmurdicksfudge.com/

    They ship…

Man, I’m looking forward to potentially moving to a place that’s a moderate tourist area 3 seasons out of the year. Or maybe one season and two halves out of the year. Can’t get these kids out of the house fast enough.

 You sound like my wife  Answer: maybe :notsure:
Hey, when they're free you take what you can. They are so damn handy to have around.
That stack is less than half of what I did have, probably more like 1/3. (before the move, and the wife complaining for me to cull the heard)
If she ever has another "container" gardening brainstorm, and I have to end up buying one later... :smack:
For a tradesman who is working, doing, storing, moving, creating things, there is a lot of value there IDGAF what anyone says:rofl:

You can never have too many 5gal buckets. Besides, they take up the same footprint on the floor whether you have 1 or 10, and they hold just as much stuff inside whether you have 1 or 10, so in theory, it's negligible, right?
