Man, I leave for a week and ya'll just blow this thread up. I've been playing catch up at work.

I really like that Stillen/S&B Frankenstein setup. Mine was a little more expensive but it works well. I was able to connect the Dobinson snorkel directly to the S&B box. The only issue I ever have with this setup is sometimes the air speed coming into the snorkel and airbox will pop out the rubber plug. It's easy enough to notice, the intake becomes much more present sound wise. @Boneskull420 do you have this happen at all with the Stillen scoop?

And just to add to it, I blasted through a heavy downpour in eastern Colorado yesterday at highway speed, minimal water in the box on my setup.

That looks suspiciously like the parking lot of the Toyota regional facility here in Denver...

Anywho, Last Sunday we left after work for Lake Okoboji, Iowa from NoCO. Thank god for Walmart parking lots and their parking policy. We made Ogallala, Nebraska before I started dozing off. Finished off the drive to Iowa the next day and spent the week with family. The truck rolled over to 230K on the way out there, and 231k on the way back. Handled the camper just fine, aside from the wonderful fuel usage pulling it. Averaged 8.5-9 mpg, aside from one tank on the trip home where we met a thunderstorm giving off a helacious headwind giving us a 7.3 average for that tank. The OTT really helped that with my averages prior to the tune being 6-7 mpg constantly with the camper. Contrary to most people, I pull often with this truck and just use Tow/Haul. The truck holds itself just fine at 65-70 mph, going between 4th and 5th. Trans pan temps stayed around 195-205, and as long as the torque converter stayed locked the return temp matched the pan. When the converter unlocks though, temps climb but I only saw that on hills and passing.

Definitely making me consider regearing though as the truck will get bigger here shortly with my 6112's and eventually 35's. Just haven't decided on 4.88's or 5.29's. I'll laugh if I go with the 5.29's, having a DD/Tow rig with deeper gearing than my crawlers 4.88's.

5.29’s all day in the tundra. My crawler has 4.88’s. Tundra could use deeper.

I really like the mountains being filled in on your dash.

    Where did you get that?

Truing to figure out what I want to do there.

White Tundra matters and white mountains?

Grey/silver that matches dash trim Tundra and white mountains?

    Just the mountains?

I feel like a woman picking out shoes, I can’t make up my mind.

How much? Great work, love it.

Problem is, I would need 5 because I’m positive I’d mess at least 4 up!

As someone that first went with 4.88s, and then 5.29s, definitely go the 5.29 route. Getting the truck an OTT Tune tomorrow, so that will adjust the shift points more to my liking, but I def like the 5.29s way more, and full MPG went up too.

I normally resist peer pressure well, but this damn money sucking site has convinced me to do the rear diff breather relocation mod tomorrow & I’ll be adding a drivers side grab handle soon.

As far as cost goes guess these are two good ones to give in to.

Let’s not discuss all the other things I already spent the mortgage payment for this month and next month on.

    Build Update!

Today I just installed a winch in my CBI Hybrid Baja front bumper. I got the Harbor Freight Badlands Apex 12000lb winch with synthetic rope.

Here is how the install went:
    1. Removed grille
    2. removed front bumper
    3. installed the winch into the bumper
    4. Installed fairlead onto the bumper
    5. Had to do some modifications with the truck for fitment. The top of the winch control box was hitting the middle grille support bracket on the truck. I took an angle grinder and cut this bracket smaller to make the winch fit without having to relocate the control box (I will put in a picture showing the bracket im talking about). In my opinion it was easier to cut the bracket which took 5 minutes at most rather than relocating the control box and having to drill holes and cover the radiator and reduce its airflow.
    6. [IMG] I cut the bottom sloped piece to make it shaped more like a square
    7. Put the bumper and which back onto the truck and tighted down all the bolts
    8. Routed the wiring to battery from underneath headlight
    9. Connected the negative winch cable to the battery and connected the positive to the battery but installed the supplied kill switch in the middle of the positive cable. I mounted the switch on top of the fuse box using double sided tape instead of the supplied bolts and nuts because those would require you to drill the fuse box lid.
    10. Put the grille back on
Let me know if anyone wants more pictures specifying any part of the install!

Overall it was a pretty easy install with very little modification needed. You just need 2 strong people or 3 average people to lift the bumper up once the winch is in it because it is HEAVY. I tested it out and it works great, but there are some draw backs. I can access the gear box lever by sticking my hand through the top of the bumper near the grille, but I cant really access the winch's remote control wiring plug. Its too tight and too far for my hands to get in there and I have smaller hands. So this means that I can only use the winch remote on wireless mode, which isnt the end of the world but I would have liked to been able to plug it in manually incase the remotes battery is dead or something isnt functioning properly. If anyone has the same setup and has a method on how to plug the cable in please let me know lol. The other draw back is that the winch's control box it touching the rear of the grille so the middle grille retaining clip wont be able to connect. Again its not really a big deal because its not loose since there is a bit of tension on the grille from the control box pushing on it so it doesnt really vibrate and make any noise while driving. Plus the grille is plastic so if the paint wears off its not gonna rust anyways.

Here are some pictures of what it looks like after:

I assume your talking about the S&B removable plug/plate on the side, I have not noticed it popping out. My hypothesis is your sweet setup is catching more direct air and pushing more at a higher velocity/ pressure and causing it to pop the plate as to mine is probably a smaller slanted opening and tube, also its behind the grill which is breaking up the direct push of air to the intake and not pressuring it up like yours...... possibly. I do like your setup and that it was a direct fit to the the intake and didn't have to chance cutting something wrong .
:evil:Disclaimer..... I'm not scientist nor do I claim to know what I'm talking about

Was a good game, I was kinda hoping for Cincinnati but on the same note I'm not a big fan boy of anyone. I just like to watch a good game and pick a side in the moment. Was a rough day for the wife's 4runner as we left Tundy at the house this time. 3 hours to Bristol, 3 hours back home then me and her shot down to Alpharetta Ga about 2 hours away to catch as much of the Volbeat concert as we could and back home by 1am. Almost 200,000 miles on her 4runner and still going strong! The whole change of the game really put us in a bind but we got the important stuff accomplished! Sorry for rambling on like a babbling idiot
