I had a JL amp and some JL Audio subs installed into a box that fits behind the seat a year ago.

It has been sounding very limited. It's fuller but no bass definition.

After messing with JL Tun app... it appears that im being limited with the sound for there is a crossover messing with my eq.

The installers tapped straight into the factory sub. Is there a way to get around the factory crossover or what is recommended here...

    Thank you for any info.

You need to grab more than just the factory sub if you want a full range of sound (If I recall the trick is one channel of the factory sub and 1 channel of front door speaker). Harnesses are available from several companies, including T^coTunes

    What’s wrong with stock?
This cable works well. I used it before upgrading system. Just slice ito the change you want.

Is this that simple to up grade our alleged premium JBL system?
Basically mount the sub level controller and wire to the drivers seat, remove ect and just plug and play?

This seems like a little more work than the Beat sonic, cheaper and I would "assume" better sounding than the Beat sonic,I dunno just asking for a friend:rolleyes:

The BeatSonic would work too only if you do not have the factory JBL amp. It has RCA preouts which you could use to send signal to JL audio sub amp. The Beatsonic would work with the JBL OEM amp, but not the RCA preouts to drive a separate sub amp (your JL audio amp) so you will still need to get the signal from head unit or before factory amp and use a convertor. The AudioControl LC2, as shown in the video above, is a great line out convertor with built in crossover and gain adjustments. They have dedicated RCA's for sub and full range amps being added. Here is a schematic for it. although you do not need the interface harness as shown in the video from Taco Tunes to install it, it makes life so much easier to purchase them. Taco Tunes and Crutchfield (I think) offer them. I am sure other places will as well. I have always preferred AudioControl products for line convertors or signal processing. just my 2 cents.

I have the BeatSonic hooked up for my JBL OEM system with factory sub and liked the overall freq range improvements. highs seem crisper and lows deeper and was very easy to install.

For the BeatSonic, Model ENA-2T3, may work with factory JBL and RCA outputs. I have the ENA-3T3 which indicated on their website that the RCAs would not work with factory JBL system. You can call them and find out if this is the route you go. It would add some improvements to your mids and highs (factory stock speakers) and ability to add an aftermarket sub amp. https://www.beatsonicusa.com/produc...ect-2018-toyota-models?variant=45579135287447

This is not 100% correct. The TT harness grabs the signal post JBL amp, not before. It doesnt need to be done before the amp. IMG_0262.jpg

So if you look at Harness #2 they have two options, one allows for the single to be converted before JBL amp via the AVC-LAN Interface. upload_2025-7-31_20-40-56.png the actual picture looks more like this for Harness 2, where the inputs for the LOC are branched out. upload_2025-7-31_20-42-52.png

I have only done the BeatSonic amp to boost up the factory system. I have a few friends that have done the LOC to add a sub amp and new aftermarket sub. ********* have a great support line, when in doubt give them a call and they will set you up for what you want.

I have TT harnesses installed and it is post-JBL amp. LOC to two amps, to four subs.
