cam bolts are easy to replace. It's getting them off that's the hard part. slather 'em in PB blaster for a few days and wish for the best. mine had been replaced at some point and luckily the previous owner covered everything in anti-seize so i was able to use three of the four sets of bolts.

OEM pads/rotors and calipers. Stop tech steel brake lines. Breaking it all down next week to start this, but I am expecting it to take a few weekends. I will post an update when I am working on it. Just have not had the time yet. I fully expect to have to cut the LCA cam bolts. Even bought some new blades for the Sawzall. No doubt they are seized after 14 years.

Hello everyone. Update to 2011 RW I purchased 8 months ago. Finally got around to tearing the front end down only to realize I needed help. Everything was original and 14 years old and needed a little extra attention/persuasion.

There were too many areas in need of extra attention requiring skills beyond my ability, so I enlisted the help of a local fabricator and friend who has helped me build out my Tacoma over the years.

Front end is complete. Rear is next.

Front end refresh includes new Bilstein 6112, notch 2 = 1.3", new lower shock bolts, new OEM UCA, LCA, new UCA bolts, new LCA to spindle bolts, new SPC cam bolts (they were seized and required cutting).

He had to cut into frame for sway bar brackets and weld in new plug nuts to secure brackets. Also had to cut into bump stop mounts and reweld/patch to remove stripped welded nuts and weld in new ones. New inner and outer tie rods installed. New calipers, rotors, pads and steel brake lines. Dust shields were corroded enough that they needed to be removed so we cut most of it out and just left a small square to remain as a spacer between hub assembly and spindle. Hubs/bearings, seals all in good shape and were not replaced.

I will post before and after pics when it is all done.

Looks really good I have yet to do my front shocks and bump stops hopefully I can get the old ones out.
Are the cam bolts not available from Toyota or reason for going with SPC cam bolts?

No issue really getting any parts for this year truck from my local Toyota dealership. Some items would have been special order (inner and outer tie rods for example so I went with Moog to get them quickly). SPC only for the front, OEM in rear. Only reason I put SPC up front is because there is less chance of them seizing. We did coat in anti seize before installing so either way should be fine.

Before and After of my 2011 RW. Suspension and Brake refresh complete.

I test fit some 1.25 spidertrax, but did not like the stance, so I removed them.

I just picked up a SR5 Grill from the junkyard. I'm planning to get it painted along with the mirror caps and door handles. Slowly but surely it will look the part!
