Made it there okay with all of the craziness of trying to figure out the one way patterns they setup at the school for beginning and end of day.

I do need to remove the gun rack out of the back window tonight. I forgot to do that last night. Also need to remove the old cellphone booster antennae that is on there as well. The new backup camera mirror and tailgate camera handle didn't come in until Monday, so that will be the project for this weekend. I was hoping to have it installed before the first day of school.

I do have one of those type of umbrellas that I kept in the garage when needed. I might have to do that. Depends on how much it blocks the view out the back window though.

I did the Master Tailgaters handle with backup camera. Still need to paint it. I bought a cheapo 5" display from the biggurrrl since I still rock the factory JBL head unit.

I bought the same one, but haven't hooked up the camera since I still have the stock radio installed for now. The metal handle is a wonderful upgrade.

Yep, that is the one I have too. I bought their mirror with built in screen to put in since I am still using the factory radio as well. I thought about getting a cheap screen but didn't know how much of a distraction on the dash it would be. I used my F-I-L Tacoma that had that screen in the mirror and it wasn't too bad once I got used to it being there. I didn't notice it at first because I was just looking over my shoulder and then happened to notice it when in reverse before I turned around.

When I was in high school a fellow student said "that parking lot is full of guns." It was legal then and nobody got shot.

Senior year (although why I didn't leave in the rifle in the car is beyond me) I used to burn through a brick of .22 LR (that's 550 rounds for you younger folks) every week after school. :)

I'd leave the rifle rack.......you don't have to put rifles in it.

The tacoma ones always throw me off. I wouldn't mind if the screen was bigger, but damn that's one tiny view port.

I had rearview backup camera once-upon-a-time but that junk died within 6 months (also from biggurrl). This one is triggered off the reverse lights so it only turns on when backing up. I do plan on running a Wolfbox G930 rearview mirror video camera in the future since I have poor rearward visibility from the Softopper.

Im interested in Radflos for my next shocks. I just gave them a call and they mentioned they are a Linear tuned shock. How are you liking them? Also curious how they feel on washboard types of roads. The 6112s I have can be a bit harsh on those roads being a digressive based shock, so curious in trying either a progressive or linear shock. Any insight you can give would be much appreciated. Truck looks great btw!

Edit: Also curious what spring rate you had on your Radflo shocks vs what you are going to be putting on? Did you go with a bigger spring rate because of the bumper and winch you added? Thanks!

Yep, our school parking lot had more guns in it than the local police armory. I went to school in my dad's truck when mine was being repaired with his shotgun and rifle in the back window. Heck, I even brought my own bow for archery in PE class. My freshman year, we went out to one of the students farm fields with the history teacher to do some live fire testing of whether or not Oswald could fire off all of his shots that accurately in the time frame reported at that distance. We did prove it. I doubt you could get the school to approve that type of filed trip now. This was back in 1987-88.

I just bought the wolfbox and it came yesterday. Still wrapping my head around how to install the rear camera on the snugtop.

I only have the mirror mounted and installed right now. So only a front camera. I had to order an extra long camera wire extension the one it came with is to short and a snugtop camera mount from Etsy.

not sure if I should hook it up to my reverse lights. Since my back up camera is there already for the radio.

How are you liking the radflos? Around town, washboard, big dips, etc?

I finally swapped out my fog light bezels from Auxbeam. Broke a tiny tab on one of them when installing but it didn't mess with them and I glued it back on. Looks much better with black bezels instead of faded purple.
I also am chasing a couple issues.
    - I have a weird noise coming from the back of my truck when turning and getting some body roll. Almost like something is shifting around in the back of the truck. Tailgate is tight, new hinges, taillights are tight, spare is good and snug (33" fits underneath). Not seeing any loose wiring, I'm wondering if my other rear axle bearing could be having issues. Or could be axle wrap and I need to inspect my u-bolts.
-I've also been having some weak braking power. My rears are pretty dialed. One side might be a little too tight after the dealership swapped the axle, bearing, etc. Parking brake works great. I cleaned the check valve on the booster and found some brake fluid inside the booster which is not ideal. I'm going to have to inspect the booster and MC and monitor brake fluid level. I noticed my brake pedal definitely has more travel than when I got it with engine off and doesn't increase resistance. So I've got some projects coming up.

Rear noise. Check each leaf has one of those round plastic pucks sandwiched between it and the spring above/below it.

If one of those breaks up and falls out, when the leaf pack shifts, it'll make weird noises. I haven't had it happen on this truck, and no longer have the stock springs as it is, but have had it happen on trucks I've lowered in the past.

Thanks. I'll check those as well. The leafs are relatively new (from previous owner) but it's possible one was lost when I removed the overload.

That would be the exact time I'd expect it. But in general, check the silencer cushions, make sure the leafs are straight, rebound clips are tight if they use a through-bolt, the central clamp is apparently tight (I realize you may not be able to access because topnut is under bumpstop, but you can wriggle it). Try physically forcing the clamp to move. May as well check out your upper and lower shock mount hardware too.

When I was diagnosing a rear clunk, I got on my back under the truck, got under the spare tire, and tucked my knees up to my chest, then used them to push up/down against the spare, lifting and dropping the truck. This helped me isolate the noise to the driver side, then move closer to driver pack and repeat, and I was able to pinpoint it to the rebound clip on the driver's side, or somewhere between the rebound clip and hanger, but definitely, 100% it was coming from my leaf pack. ATS had no obvious solution (I texted several videos clearly indicating the problem), and they sent me a replacement pack which I really need to get off my ass and install.

Anyway, maybe it'll work for you, the tactic I used. After 20+ years of consistent skateboarding and some surfing starting around age 10, and the last 20 years of my life snowboarding and hiking, I can lift/push 2x-3x as much weight with my legs as my arms. If you're the opposite. maybe just bench press the driver and passenger framerails to see what you hear.

They sold them with #600s. Felt good but had to max out the preload. I chatted with Accutune who said they should have come with #650s for the truck.

I have #700s that I'm installing tomorrow. That bumper and winch has the front end 1/2" or so lower and feeling a bit squishy. I don't have a sway bar though either.

I'll let you know about washboards after my Elk hunt...the mountain is full.

I grabbed this from my buddy's shop vs a rental spring compressor....

HOLD FAST, it's a little late to start worrying about desecrating this body now. Between the tattoos and broken bones, the warranty is long gone. Only been off crutches for about a month and a half since breaking my good knee. Part of why I've been trying to get work done on my truck again. It's an absolute pain in the ass trying to fix anything on crutches.

I don’t like to fix things on crutches either. I prefer to fix things that aren’t that broke.

But yes, I also hear you. Because while my ass isn’t broke, my ass is also pretty broke.

Thanks for the tip. Funny enough, that’s the technique I used to diagnose the leaf shackle bushings. I’ll try it again and check the other items. I noticed today it wasn’t specific to turning but hitting bumps and possibly shifting from not hitting a bump evenly across the rear axle.
Hopefully I’ll get a chance to inspect this weekend but doubtful.

It's going to be a long day and the news said there's a heat advisory, expect temps in the 90's and feels like temp around 110 and don't talk about the humidity. Started working on installing the amp cables last night, have to get the board mounted and install the 8" subs.
