    Looked up the Ginkgo tree:

What are the downsides of ginkgo trees?
Not many trees can withstand the soil compaction and lack of oxygen associated with concrete sidewalks. The only downsides to planting ginkgo trees is that they grow very slowly. Oh, and the fruit has a smell somewhere between rotting flesh and vomit. :puke:

Hmm, yeah. Thinking I'll pass on that.

the engine with the faulty air valve is back to idling right outside my office.

presently, I can sing Eddie Rabbit's "I'm Driving my Life Away" to the tempo.

Just a thought, it’s kind of a unique tree. I’m kind of into plants. Wanted to throw it out there in case it peaked your interest. They really are a great low maintenance tree. They’re a really old species, sometimes called the fossil tree.

You can get male cultivars that don’t produce fruit, like 'Autumn Gold', 'Princeton Sentry', and 'Lakeview'.

Pests stay away from them, including Japanese Beetles, my mortal enemy.

Slow growing trees are strong and cheap to own.

They have great Fall color, and lose all of their leaves in the Fall in a few days, so raking is easier. They make a beautiful carpet of golden leaves. They inspire haikus and meditation.

    IMG_6980.jpg

I’m pretty sure you boil the bark, and then inject it into your veins, but I can’t remember. :cookiemonster:

I'm way more interested now that I know they can be had without the stinky fruit.
The fact that I can boil the bark and mainline it, well that's just a bonus.

Basically what I’m saying is, they’re the 2nd Gen Tundra of trees, so they’re really solid, low maintenance, beautiful, tough, long-lived and awesome but kind of old and not for everybody.

I've probably had enough of these new-fangled, unreliable trees. Time to go retro. :D

    I was inspired:

    Ginkgo tree solid
    Too bad about stinky fruit
    2G Tundra tree

    Ginkgo tree solid
    Compare to Tundra 2G
    Stinky fruit must die

    I'm off to meditate now.

Japanese culture/history is interesting. The Ninjas would write death poems and have those ready just in case.

:monocle:so maybe we need to write death poems for our trucks, might be good to have it ready in the glove box.:p

This is the other one I got. I think I like it better. The aftertaste on these is a bit strong.

    not that anyone asked....or cares:

my point of reference for energy drinks is Monster white can zero sugar.

it's the smoothest, least offensive flavor.

Celsius in the can is horrid.

    C4 is quite ok.

Honest question. Why do companies feel compelled to make flavors where you are mixing fruits? Like that apple / pear. Why can't we have a singular flavor. No one eats an apple and pear together to get a flavor blend. It's so weird to me.

Apples taste good. Pears taste good. Apple flavored drinks that aren't apple juice taste like ass. So they blend to help I guess

Thanks! I’ll take a look at the Monsters at the store.

My thinking up to this point was that, those are for the younger crowd.

Or put another way, I don’t think I bench press enough to have one of those, especially in public. But I could be wrong.

I’ve had a pear cider with alcohol that was the best cider I’ve ever had. It was crazy expensive.

So maybe the multiple fruit/blending helps them manage their supply of ingredients. And yeah just marketing/standing out in the crowd.
