Looking to do some around the house / truck repairs - light duty stuff. I am NOT good at welding and am looking for an easier alternative. Again this will be for light duty stuff like minor repairs around the house and little things around the truck - nothing structural of course.

Has anyone used one of these. They seem intriguing but too good to be true!!!!

I wouldn't, it's just a handheld stick welder, and probably under powered. You can get a cheap stick/flux core mig at Harbor Freight for around that price, wait for a coupon.

Yep. I have the bright green fluxcore welder from HF and it works great! Just get some GOOD wire. The stuff that comes with it is garbage. Just practice with it and you'll do better than you think you would. I wouldn't even consider one of those hand held units.

Aren't they all technically hand held welders?

    Too many, but not enough....
Titanium 125 is awesome from harbor freight. They have coupons all the time and if your patient you can get a whole setup for 250 bucks or less. Its stupid easy to use.
