    Hello all,

    I picked up a 2023 platinum with a 6.5’ bed.

    a few questions.

the truck will be used off road so,

want no rub, ever, even at full lock and full extension/compression of suspension.

i am going to run Bilstein 6112 up front and 6100s in the rear. The Bilsteins will be max height in the front, stock rear springs for now.

I need to know about wheel and tire options.
As I wrote above, want no rub, at full lock and extension/compression. It will be used (not abused) off road.

i am hoping to run 17” if I can. But will run 18s if I must.

Likely will stick to 11.5” or 295mm width tire, but unsure if this will not rub and what height I can run.

I am thinking -12 to -18mm offset, trying to avoid much poke. Looking for flush with the oem mudflaps

i have looked quite a bit at related pages, but ni firm answers.

so coming to you guys for a bit of input.

    thanks

-12 and -18 offsets are gonna poke a ton. My 0 offsets poke a bunch. I’ll let others answer as to what offset is flush with the flares but I’m guessing +20-something, if not more.

295/11.5” width will help with rub, but a lot of the skinny 35s I’ve seen are for 18” rims.

For your reference, I’m running 35x12.5R17s on method 305s with 0 offset. Suspension - king 2.5s with just a level on the front, no lift in the rear. With some minor fender liner trimming, I’m only rubbing on the horn of the frame on my driver side, at full lock. No rubbing on the sway bar either, probably thanks to the zero offset wheels. I’d look into a tire offset tool that mocks up what tire/offset you want to see if it’d rub.

If you want little to no poke, you're going to need +35ish or higher offset on an 8.5" wheel; a bit higher on a 9" wheel

You can use to figure out what your sweet spot is for wheel/tire fitment

    thanks man,
I guess I had the offset backwards.
I am looking to run narrower than 12.5 so shooting for an 11.5” or 295.
I will run 18s likely, but 17s will give me more sidewall and better off road manners - tires will be a bit cheaper too.
i will use it off road and will surely use up the travel and need full lock without any significant rubbing.
Cutting or pinning a liner is one thing, but not going to cut the frame or bodywork up. It just isn’t that kind of truck for me.
That said, it will need to be competent off road. i ride dirt bikes and am not adverse to go for a little sunset run in the truck, but it is a tool and not a toy for me. As such, beyond skids, some 6112/6100 shocks set at about 2.2”, maybe some +1 coils for the rear, and a couple bumpers, that will pretty much be it ($10k later lol)

but yeah, to go with those shocks I need to find the appropriate offset, tire height and tire width that will work.

    Thanks for the input!

I have some KMC 17" wheels, +0 offset with 35x12.5R17 Toyo A/T III's with the exact same suspension you have (though I added Eibach rear coils). I have to remove that one metal piece behind the 2 front wheels (some YouTube videos on that, it's easy), and have almost no rub. A little bit on the liners (haven't trimmed them at all).
