My 2005 Tundra has an issue with A/C blower motor. Motor stops during use for 10-15 minutes, then starts working again. Sometimes won't work until next day. Has been happening increasingly more over past 2 years. Happens nearly every day now. Thanks for any help.

Have you removed the power connector that plugs into the blower motor to verify it has power at the time the motor isn't working?

If it has power, and the fan isn't spinning, replace the fan assembly.

If it doesn't have power, I'd need to dig into the EWD to see how it's wired, going purely from memory (and my memory sucks with wiring), I think the power goes from the speed control to a relay in the engine bay, to the blower motor resistor screwed (2 screws) into the blower housing behind the glovebox, then to the motor itself, so maybe checking the resistor would be next?

Curious to know if you've got power at the connector or not, and also curious to know if you've attempted to drop the motor yet and inspect it, smell for burnt smells, etc. And if you've checked the wires, since some people who park outdoors and/or live in high-rodent areas will have rodents come in through the cowl, drop into the motor, and go to town on wiring behind the glovebox.

The wiring near the blower motor has been known to be an issue with a couple truck fires reported. I’d have to go back and check the YouTube videos but I thought there was a report of two trucks that had caught on fire due to raw wire shorting with in a few inches of the blower motor itself.

When it stops working, will it still work on full blast?? Could be the fan speed resistor. These motors are not brushless, and can wear them out over time, although I've not heard of that happening around here.

Heh, I remember when my resistor was busted due to my clumsiness/stupidity. But I swore in that case, it only had two speeds, OFF and HIGH for 3-4 positions.

Not sure how these behave when they go bad, but my BMW and my Dodge both had off, off, off, off and high. The other speed steps just did nothing.
