I'm prefacing this with I am prickly right now. I just wasted 10k on another motor replacement thanks to a scammy junk yard that sold me a 4100.00 "A" grade 70k mile '18 Tundra motor that blew a view hole in the block in 2k miles.

    https://voltageboosterpro.com/?srsltid=AfmBOorUdqineuvLeEBRAkhFNi2H-WmmUlywJZgHuiwOG04-rgXNjGYe

I got the truck back with a battery light & running at 13.2-6 volts, although my Voltage Booster Pro had been running at 14.2+ From December when I got it to May when the motor died.

I checked the grounds, verified it was in properly & then put the cheap GM Diode it replaced back. 14.+ volts.

I'm fine sucking this up, my main reason for posting is the fact their attitude is their product cannot fail, my truck/I must be doing something and the fact that they ignored my last message asking them to keep the product.

Messaged VBP & here is the exchange:

    Me 7/18
    Hello,

My Voltage Booster PRO "Spark" (2nd Gen Tundra, 2nd Gen Tacoma, 2nd Gen Sequoia, Land Cruiser, LX570) - C (2007-2021 Toyota Tundra, 2008-2017 Toyota Sequoia)
Has stopped working. WIth it in on both settings I am between 13.2-13.6, the same as without it.
I’d appreciate a replacement as it was at 14.x on high which is where my AGM likes it.

    VBP's response:

Just to clarify, the VBPro does not "stop" working in the sense of like a computer or a TV. It is fully passive and the components don't fail to short. If the booster is physically damaged then this would cause a engine light on the dash. Could you measure your voltages for us?

Please follow these steps to obtain accurate and consistent voltage measurements. Ensure all readings are taken at the same time interval after starting the engine—ideally, 15 seconds after turning on the vehicle—to account for a consistent point on the charging curve. The measurements required are as follows:

    1. Baseline Voltage Measurement:
      • Use a voltmeter to measure the baseline voltage directly at the battery terminals.
    2. Voltage Measurement with Voltage Booster Pro in Low Mode:
      • Plug in the Voltage Booster Pro and set it to "Low" mode. Take a voltage reading at the battery terminals at the specified time interval.
    3. Voltage Measurement with Voltage Booster Pro in High Mode:
      • With the Voltage Booster Pro still connected, switch it to "High" mode. Again, take a voltage reading at the battery terminals at the same time interval.
By maintaining a consistent measurementinterval (e.g., 15 seconds after engine start), you ensure that all readings are taken at a comparable point on the vehicle's charging curve, improving the reliability and accuracy of the data collected.

    Please provide those 3 measurements.

    My response:

    Hello,

Before I contacted you I did all of that on a Fluke voltmeter.

There is no physical damage. The alternator is an OEM 180 amp unit installed in December 24.

I also sent this before their next response:

It is 13.2 at idle regardless of if the unit is there or not in both modes.

It's suddenly like it's not there.

I have a diode that brings the voltage up. I got yours because I did not like not having a fuse.

    VBP:

Ok, thanks for the info. Based on what you are describing, I suspect there is nothing wrong with the booster and there is another variable. But please send it in so I can take a look at it and i'll swap it anyways.
    Mail to:

Include your name and order number please.

I sent the unit & got this:

I am pleased to inform you that I have tested and inspected your booster, and it is fully functional. A new unit will be sent to you as a replacement anyways. As previously stated, there is something else downstream causing your symptoms.

Could you please send a picture of the booster installed in your vehicle?

    I responded:

That’s great, the cheap GM diode from Amazon is giving 14.2-14.6, how about you keep it and return the money?

This was 7/23, they ignored the message & shipped 7/25

That’s unfortunate to hear, when mine has a slight fitment issue, they were very responsive and helpful, the only thing I’ve noticed with mine is that when the truck is hot the voltage is lower than when it’s cold. It starts off at around 14.6, then drops to 13.8-14.

I think their response is pretty good actually. They tested it for you, found it was working, but are sending you a new one instead of your old one. That’s better than most places.

Except it did not work in my application (after working for 5 months) and their position that their product cannot fail/ it's my truck's fault, while ignoring the cheap diode is working and ignoring my response asking them not to send the new one.

There is never any hint of maybe their product is the issue/ expression approching something emulating sorry their product caused me to spend time diagnosing it/contacting them etc.

That's a good thing. The saturation point drops as temperature rises. The upper echelon maintainers are temperature compensating.
