More carnage from the carpet cleaner. Carpets are decent now and new seats installed. I’ll shoot a pic in the morning when it’s light.

 

Next week when that drain starts acting slow, skip the drain snake and go straight to the P-Trap and empty out the sand

Is that a clear cover on the post terminals?

 

Yessir. I’ll try to find where it was discussed. Never understood the appeal of having giant uncovered terminals to lay your arm across or drop a tool on.

4th of July Toyota sale. Not worth it, get aftermarket or go to a junkyard. I have buyers remorse.

 

I just ordered the full kit off ebay. I'm missing the j-hook, top clamp, and front bolt. I had a paypal credit I'd forgotten about that covered most of it.

Well I went for a nice drive with the windows down. My speedo works again. Yay! But I have another oil leak. Boo.
Still got a bunch of crap all over the underside from when the crank shaft seal was leaking so I’ll spray her down with some engine degreaser and hit the car wash and I can chase it down. Hopefully it will be something minor.
Truck drove great though.

 

Valve cover leaks - notorious issue. Info on part numbers is in the MEGATHREAD, search for the word "gaskets". This will soak everything on the bottom half of the engine, and mimic rear main seal leaks, power steering leaks, etc. Look all the way around the valve covers for old oil, clean it off, and keep an eye for new leaks.

 

Needs a new steering wheel wrap.

Did you pull/clean/re-seal the two half moon plugs per head/per side?

 

Yarp. I’ll clean the block and see if I can figure out where it’s coming from. I also had boiling coolant in my reservoir when I parked the truck after taking stuff to the dump today. It sounded like the cap was leaking. I guess it’s time to replace that no-name radiator too
