Right, that's the fabricated stuff, but there is still a real job of a crab fisherman being filmed. Those are very real crab boats going out in real storms, and people really getting hurt, and boats really sinking. That part isn't scripted.

Yeah, and that means there's about 80% BS filler in every episode.

Yes, but the same line and the same scene over and over and over and over to build the drama means the drama really isn't enough to carry the show...

Plus, I live on that coast, and yes while boats sink and while folks die... More folks die each day driving to work, and by trade, guys doing lineman work are far more likely to die than a crab fisherman.

 

Ahh no....A crab boat out of Dutch Harbor, in winter, on the Bering Sea, is a job NO lineman would volunteer for, unless more $$$ for 4 months work and 8 months off. Just sayin.

I had a chemical cauterization done about 6-7 years ago, I don't think I've had a bloody nose on that side since.
