Oh....cant leave out the 10mm Magnum I bought it specifically to have it reamed for the Magnum round.
It's equivalent to the 41 Magnum.

Has anyone ever seen a Jeep parked with a duck anywhere on the outside of the vehicle? I haven't. I think these ducks are a Jeep version of virtue signalling. Like Save the Whales stickers on Subarus.

I think Jeep owners duck themselves. "Oh look at all the ducks other Jeep owners gave me! I'm special!"

I must admit I have a little plastic Yoda on my dash. It's a nightlight coinbank I found at a garage sale for 50 cents. Perfect for that dip in the dash. Guess I got a deal before inflation....

 

There's a story out there but I cant remember where I heard it about a radio contest of some kind.
The contestants were told they'd win a New Toyota if they won the challenge.
And yep....it was a Toy Yoda.
Obviously the person that won was highly Pissed!!!
The contestant sued the radio station but I dont remember the outcome.

 

The Guy that did the work had a list of the guns he would modify.
The S&W being one of them.
They had to be robust enough to handle the extra pressure.

You'd have to ask the Gunsmith that did the work.
I can see his point though.
Not all revolvers are created equal.
Whether it be in design or materials.

 

As a machinist as well as an inspector I've done all kinds of cutting and destructive testing of every material under the sun.
When you shoot a firearm it's a controlled explosion.
Some materials are better suited to handle that pressure than others.
You also have to take into account the design.
Again,some designs are more robust than others.
And it's entirely possible to blow up a firearm if the rounds are to hot.
I reload a lot of my own ammo and there's guide lines you have to follow for this very reason.

Are you trying to say that a revolver for some reason can't have to much pressure behind the projectile to cause firearm destruction?
A revolver like any firearm can be damaged or literally destroyed by an overloaded charge.

Take the .38 Police Special for example.
You can shoot .38 out of the .357 but not vice versa.
The .38 is not designed to hold up to the pressure of the .357 round.

 

I may be wrong, but you can't even load .357 into a revolver chambered for just .38. I thought that the cylinder in a .38 is just short enough that a .357 would stick out just enough to prevent the cylinder from closing.

Again, I'm no firearms expert, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once.

 

Which of course is why they do that.
While you could ream the cylinder deeper so they would fit I wouldnt recommend trying it.
Hell,the cylinder might not even be deep enough to do it.
While I do plink with the .38 rounds occasionally to save a few bucks I mainly shoot .357....
It makes a big difference as to point of aim.
Obviously the weaker round wont hit at the same point of aim so it's kind of a waste of time and money.
Not to mention practice time.

 

I edc a .357, but when I go to the range, I shoot .38 like you said, to save a few bucks. I'm not too concerned with hitting at a different point of aim as my use for the gun would be someone trying to jack me at the gas pump or something.

 

Oh....if you've never shot with the EoTech system I highly recommend it!!!
The front sight isn't Magnified and with it's wide field of view it makes it really easy to acquire your target.
The rear sight act's like a scope and can be flipped off to the side for CQB shooting.
Makes aiming damn near foolproof!!

Yeah....I hate shooting at a range!!!
Last time I did I looked up and the shade cover was full of bullet holes!!!!
Doesnt exactly give you the warm fuzzies!!

 

Back to the original topic, dont toyotas already have something? Not for other toyota owners to give to each other, but something Toyota gives you? A sticker with 100k, 200k, etc miles. Granted, you have to ask. But way better than a duck on the dash.
