If you can find a place to mount one of these, the permanent install is uber clean.

Did the grille swap. Went with a cheap one instead of oem because it was an impulse buy. Wires were a mess and I’m going to need a different camera bracket which isn’t a big deal, But it’ll work for now. Also the fog bezel is missing because I have a black one coming in tomorrow and I'll be damned if I’m going through that whole processes again just to get the old one off. Why is there so many clips holding all this together? I’m not looking forward to having to replace it all in a few years when the sun dries it all out.

Had my Atlantic Built Exhaust welded on this morning. Local shop TIG welded it on the truck! I was in and out in less than an hour. If you are in Arizona and need exhaust work, I recommend checking out Wicked Wrench AZ.

Charging upgrades today. NSV dual charger which I grabbed before the price went from crazy to insane. I was surprised to see mine was wired for the factory charger. Then the Sparks Toyota rear USB chargers. Hour and a half taking my time, really not bad. I also ran RCAs to the passenger floor board for now for an upcoming sub install.

that 120v outlet really bugs me at times. The stupid flap gets in the way of some power adapter bricks and wont let it plug in all the way.

Writing as a happy 3rd gen customer today. Despite all the negativity and hate surrounding the 3rd gen, I took my truck in today and got a free replacement headliner because there was an area above the driver’s side that was squeaking / rattling noise over bumps. My service advisor got with one of the master technicians and he agreed that it needed replacement. Now it’s completely solid and I’m super happy! Also, I had wind noise coming from my driver’s side mirror, they tried fixing it and could’ve easily gaf’d me off, but instead they had an engineer look at it too and he confirmed the noise! They needed the truck for the day yesterday and gave me a loaner free of charge. They opened a case with Toyota and I’m getting a whole new driver’s side mirror assembly sometime next week. Shout out to Toyota of Anaheim! Highly recommend!!

I cant remember exactly, but on my 2011 I had installed a GM diode on an add a fuse to basically trick the alternator into being adequate enough to charge/keep charged the AGM battery I put in it. I did that a little over a year or 2 ago and never had issues with the battery. Theres a whole post/thread somewhere on here about that.

Installed TRD shift knob, center caps, and Weathertech rain guards. Are the vertical rubber window seals supposed to look like that?

Yes, you've displaced them by shoving a piece of plastic under them.

What prevents a prepared thief from getting in the vehicle, popping the hood, unplugging the relay bypass module, installing a second starter relay and driving off with your truck?

Unfortunately, thieves are becoming more determined nowadays.

This is the one drawback I see with this. I’m pretty sure car thieves are aware of these kinds of devices. Maybe not all, but I don’t think it’s as secure as it may make you feel.

Nothing prevents that, but it does deter them. They would:
    1. have to know that's the problem.
    2. Have a spare relay with them,
    3. Figure all that out before they get caught.

At the end of the day, they can always get cars... A simple tow truck can bypass all that. But why go thru all that trouble and just go to the next car/truck.

Trust me, most car thieves around here are not going to go thru all that. It won't start??, they move on. There's nothing special about my truck that they can't find walking down the street. The car thieves here either want those specialty cars/trucks, or something to commit another crime in.

Took the first road trip in the truck this weekend. 700 mile round trip. Averaged 17mpg going, & 16mpg coming back. Ran 75-80 most of the way. First time she's been rained on since I bought it last September, so she got a good bath today. 20250720_110209.jpg

    Lots of stuff!
A buddy just had his 2024 Tundra stolen from his driveway at night. This happened in rural Ontario.

The night it happened, a Land Rover was seen driving around and it stopped near the truck and then left and came back a while later and parked near a neighbor's house. They have a Ring camera. They saw the truck pull up and then lost the signal on the camera for a few minutes and when it came back the Land Rover and the Tundra were gone. IT is thought that they saw the Tundra and cloned the key fob on the spot. Then they jammed the cameras.

The Tundra was found in Montreal, Quebec about to be loaded onto a cargo ship heading to Africa.

The cops found a universal car remote in the truck console (one you can buy off Alibaba for a couple of buck). The GPS was disabled (I think he said wires were cut).

It does appear that these guys are organized and very selective about what they want to steal. The Tundra is apparently a big target, popular in Africa and pretty easy to take.

During the repairs, the service adviser said that this happens all the time and they usually don't get the trucks back.

Maybe installing an Airtag in the truck could help locate it but if it shows up in the "Find My Truck" app, sitting in the Congo, do you really want it back?

Just drove back from the beach
First road trip in the tundra and first trip with the full ceramic I got the windshield tinted in 70% ceramic and 50% on the pano to match my 33% on the rest of the truck. The cab was amazing driving down to the beach ceramic is a must!

Was about a 400 mile round trip fit my family of 4 comfortably along with all our gear in the bed

drove down into Mexico to visit some family. 435 miles round trip and got 19.3mpg doing 65-70mph on the hwy and taking it easy in Mexico.
Realized that the body shop didnt install my baja designs bar correctly (didnt use included spacers) and I couldnt aim it as its currently shoved up against the grille. No issues after the 2 month long repair process, so I'm happy about that but I can tell my wrists are still messed up as it hurt to drive all the way down there and back. Hit 42k miles as I pulled up to the gas pump when I filled up after we got back.

Also, confirmed x2 battery is dead...spent 2 days on the charger, was "charged" when I got back...disconnected it, read voltage at 12.5v......3hrs later it was down to 11.9v. Will see how low it gets tomorrow morning. It's going back tomorrow for replacement.
