You got me on security, but my softopper on my old Tacoma survived a few good Montana winters and spring and fall rain without missing a beat.

Never had a knee replacement but my buddy said just start on those meds early and get up while you can and move. Good luck.

I do. I’m running that head unit with the Trail Grid Pro 10 speaker Alpine bundle and the Kicker plug and play amp that I recently installed. I’ve been using the OEM subwoofer until the new box and JL sub arrived.

I have a future project. The front passenger side Bilstien 6112 blew out. It's covered in oil and not just the seeping that they say is normal. Plus the ride went to crap. They are 4 years old with 45k miles. I hoped they would have lasted long but it is what it is. I am replacing them with the same model because I like the height adjustment and ride so much.

They were easy miles on the struts btw. Half of the miles were towing, with four round trips from SD to NY to move the family.

I currently have the Pioneer 7600 9 inch floating but thinking about switching to the Halo. They have an awesome deal that comes with a free dash cam system. Im just not sure if I want the 9 or 11 inch. If I can lower the 11 enough to get as low as possible with the top of the dash that might work.

The heat is definitely a pain to work outside in, I try to get out early and go back out when the sun starts down if I still feel like it but to deal with chemo the same time..... I hate it for you and I will say a prayer for healing and a quick recovery for you! Like others have said take it easy but dont let yourself go stir crazy either!

I’ll snap a picture of mine in a moment. I think I set mine to the lowest position as well as the closest to the dash. I think the 11” is a perfect fit set up like that. I did see the bundle deal. I have the Alpine dash cam as well that I purchased and installed with the Halo. To be honest, the dash cam isn’t the best picture quality and I sort of knew that going in, but I really like how it’s integrated with the head unit. I just ordered and installed an Escort Redline radar detector with their M2 dash cam and the picture quality is a lot better on that unit.

Do you recall the air space on that box and is it all wood or partially fiberglass?

With no water intrusion at all? That’s impressive.

My TCUSA cover is ultra secure, but rain still gets in around the corners.

It’s all wood, but they fiberglass the inside. I don’t know the air space. James builds the box according to the subwoofer specs.

Like @AZTundra said, you can get the 11 pretty low and tight to the dash. Here's mine.

Nice. I shouldn't have any issues mounted like that with my Rago plate (radar detector and Furrion 5 inch monitor). You think the 11 cosmetically fits better than the 9 inch? Here is my current 9 inch Pioneer.

@Tundra234 Here is a side shot showing the closest position to the dash and a head on shot at the lowest setting. Happy to take any more angles if you need them.

Thank you, the meds help but not being able to walk without a cane is an eye opener. A buddy of mine who served with me in the same unit just had bilateral knee replacements in Va. after about two weeks he walked a mile. I’m planning on walking unassisted again soon, this has implanted a degree of humility previously unknown to me. Though I’ve always been empathetic to anyone disabled, I now see it through different lenses and sincerely hope the best for all of us.

That's too bad. I've run exclusively AGM batteries (on the second one) in my '13 since I pulled the stock on after two or three years. My issue with flooded cell batteries is with how badly they outgas. My terminals would look start looking like a chia pet in a swamp after only a couple of thousand miles. I'd have to pull the cables and clean them two or three times between oil changes. Since the AGM is completely sealed, I've cleaned my cables maybe twice since then. The first battery lasted 7 or 8 years of parking outside year round including winters below zero and summers cresting 100 degrees. Always fired up until one day I ran the battery down a little too far while on a phone call after I stopped and turned the motor off. The stereo shut off 15 minutes in to the call so I tried starting it up again and got a click. I waited 30 minutes and it actually cranked over one more time, so I ran straight to the parts store and purchased another one.

Funny thing - it was in the middle of the winter and I thought I could tell the starter was turning a little slower and wondered if the battery was going out. My schedule got double stacked that week and I spent the previous evening in the middle of nowhere on a job with poor cell service and then it dumped two feet of snow int he time I was there. Drove home in the middle of the night. When I left that evening, I told my wife that the battery might be going out on the truck so if it dies, I might be home sometime the next day instead of early morning. The truck fired right up on the job, only to die in front of my shop the next afternoon. I laughed pretty hard when the starter just clicked.

Out of curiosity, what brand was your AGM? I have had very good luck with DieHard batteries. The first AGM was from Sears back when they were still around; the second AGM was from Advance Auto since they picked up the DieHard line. I should also note that I throw the battery charger on the battery once or twice a year just to maintain it, but the truck is driven daily so it doesn't sit for any long periods of time.

I've had great success with my Power X2 AGM,too, tho there were a couple bad lots of QA/QC that had to be replaced...they've been stellar thru -40 winters for many years in ALL of my vehicles! I keep a tender on it a couple times a year, too...nothing but smiles for my stable with them!

Nope, mine was really good about not letting water in. Having said that, you have to take your time getting everything set up correctly. If it’s not balanced evenly front to back I it can get a little wonky and let water in.

Did the 1st mod to the new to me Tundra. I'm a crossover toolbox kind of guy, but I don't care for the look on the crewmax short bed, plus the truck has a tonneau cover, probably gonna get a flush fitting hard tonneau cover at some point. So, I ran to the local Tractor Supply and picked up a chest tool box. Turned out pretty good. Also installed my seat jackers on the driver side, kept those from my last Tundra.

Put some Fluid Film on the terminals and that should take care of the corrosion forming.
