Looking into buying this one with 180k miles drives very smooth no engine knocking almost sounds better than my ‘17!!!! But noticed this underneath. Should i take the risk on buying it and making the repair? Didn’t notice any stains where it has been parked for the past few days.

Looks like it's the rear main seal. Hardly worth crying about.

Could be cam towers. Valve covers. Literally anything above that spot.

Didn’t see any other areas with any type of fluids leaking, just that area.

That underneath looks the same as my 15 did.
Mine turn out to be rear main seal.

An oil weep at a 180k would be like item number 865 on my list of things to be concerned with.

    +1 for rear main seal.
Just make sure to top it off before driving off, and replace the oil when you get home. Overall not something that would make me pause.

Pardon my ignorance, but if it is the rear main seal, isn't that kinda of a pricey fix?

or cam towers. Good to know what you’re up against before making the purchase. May even help negotiate the price based on needed repairs.

Fair point. I drive stick, so you usually just get a new one with the clutch. But definitely hum and haw about it and get a discount.

Let this example serve as a reminder to change your pcv valve about every 30-40k or so. Excessive crankcase pressure is hard on seals.

I changed mine and still have the leak :notsure:

Come to think of it, I don't think I've had a truck that didn't have a little oil coming out of the rear main

I'd replace the PCV and call it a win! The RMS seep is typical to clogged PCV...nothing 10 min and a $20 part can't fix...

Well you may have still prevented other issues such as valve seals leaking and so on. Be glad you don't have a steady stream blowing onto a clutch in a manual, that becomes a problem quickly!
