Hi all Tundras, Steppes and Deserts lovers...

Yes we are in summer but before you know it, it is going to be winter again. Any DIY product you recommend for treating the frames of our beloved vehicle? Or is it better to have it professionally done? Any tips are most welcome. Thanx a lot!

Wool Wax, Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protectant or Fluid Film will do the trick.

I've been using Amsoil every year since 2018 and we have some bad snowy/salty winters in NY.

Great! And no sign of rust? I assume you apply the stuff on the parts and pieces that need to be treated but other ones not. Thanks a lot Jim.

I crawl under my rigs and use rust converter spray paint on anything rusty looking every summer and they look great. Use a wire brush on anything that looks flaky beforehand. No salt on the roads here however, lots of moisture though.

Here is something paradoxical: I live in Northern California. Even though we do have some rain and even serious storms, it does not affects the bottoms of our vehicles that much. Actually, I saw some high millage and old ones going to the slaughterhouse (junkyards). If you guys from the northern states where the whether is brutally cold, saw the frames of these vehicles, they would make you sick... some of them look "brand new".
Well, we have at least something for ourselves. After all, we have to deal with other "stuff": Earthquakes, flooding, landslide not mention big fires and political clashes (I am not going to extend the subject on the latest).
The catch for me is that I will do some trips to Colorado. Yep, there is rain there AND lots of salt on the road. And as we, Tundra lovers, love our Tundras, it means we want to protect our investment, hence the question.
